NICE JOB! im working on a lightweight X2 myself. lets see if i can beat your 230 lbs!:fingersx:
Lookin good, i like the graphics.
Good to hear the YAmi pump works that well. I started a thread about a month back on my conversion and got a lot of "what for?, is it really worth it?"
ITs a pretty simple mod too.
any updates
A lot of that hookup comes from the TBM, Pete had the same experience after installing his as well. All this talk of lightweight hulls is pushing me to get going on my spare hull and get the "Project 61X2" under way, thinking of removing all extra weight possible including thinning out the tower, grinding the ribs etc., shaved seat, carbon hood, and so on. But I will be running the Kawi pump to show its not absolutely neccessary to swap it out as well.Anyone who said "what for" never rode an X2 with a Yam pump...lol It really hooks up twice as good as my kawi that has a brand new pump/prop. Dont cheap out, get the TBM and mag impeller....you'll be REAL happy you did!
hey shawn how is the new x2 going , any more pictures of ski and engine, how do you like it
i think i have a picture or 2 from berkley island last week.
i didn't get any pics of shawn riding today since it was too nice not to be in the water, but its a sick boat mark did a great job.
Sweet dude!
Part of that is you took off all the hood weight and the tower on a stock ski is really heavy as well.Oh and one other thing worth mentioning. I dont know why, but this is the most stable X2 ever made. I can kneel on the thing at idle and not fall off.....forever!!! My theory is that the yamaha motor is much shorter and the center of gravity is lower, but thats just my guess. Its a night and day difference then my other X2s!! No tubbies on the lightweight and I dont plan on installing them this season. I am just in love with the way the boat handles and as of now I just dont think I need the tubbies with the new SJ style nose.
Shawn, you best get some photos upside down or a lot of us will be dissapointed...................jk
that is really great shawn , i rode x2guys 8oox2 i really like the power, but dont laugh i got my 650 running really strong , and had it in some big waves on our long weekend i love the x2 it is a great ski, only problem i have now the wife also loves it and wants to ride it , in canada you dont see to many and everywhere i go people ask a lot questions on ski
Should pick her up her own. The more X2s you own, the better chance one will not be broken down...LOL
