Lookin good, i like the graphics.

Good to hear the YAmi pump works that well. I started a thread about a month back on my conversion and got a lot of "what for?, is it really worth it?"

ITs a pretty simple mod too.

Anyone who said "what for" never rode an X2 with a Yam pump...lol It really hooks up twice as good as my kawi that has a brand new pump/prop. Dont cheap out, get the TBM and mag impeller....you'll be REAL happy you did!

any updates

Not really, Just installing perm mounting brackets for gas tank, w. box straps. Have not got a chance to rip it because of work, but hopefully sunday I'll get to finish the break-in. Good news is that I am off the next 3 weekends after this one....goal is to put atleast 10tanks though it before memorial day. And she is going out in the surf next week!!!

A lot of that hookup comes from the TBM, Pete had the same experience after installing his as well. All this talk of lightweight hulls is pushing me to get going on my spare hull and get the "Project 61X2" under way, thinking of removing all extra weight possible including thinning out the tower, grinding the ribs etc., shaved seat, carbon hood, and so on. But I will be running the Kawi pump to show its not absolutely neccessary to swap it out as well.

hey shawn how is the new x2 going , any more pictures of ski and engine, how do you like it

Rode an entire tank through it today @ Marks shop. Its SOOOOOO ********ING SWEET!

I know it sounds crazy, but I have been so distracted with riding my other X2's, I have not had any time to put the finishing details on the lightweight. My 780 Kawi is running sooooo nice, and the weather was too nice here to spend wrenching. Right now it just needs bilge pumps, a few hose clamps, and slap registration #'s on and I stamp it ready for surf. Plus I took the time to get it LEGALLY registered as a home made boat (a pain in the ass here in NJ). But thats behind me now.

The good news is that the lightweight is just a blast to rip! It hooks up 100x better than my other X2's and pulls your fwaking arms off when you tap the throttle!!! All the bottom modifications Mark did to the pump area are the feature I notice the most on this boat. It just grabs and goes. Neck snapping...LOL

I'll get you some more pics next weekend if your interested. I plan on riding the lightweight exclusivley all next weekend.

Oh and one other thing worth mentioning. I dont know why, but this is the most stable X2 ever made. I can kneel on the thing at idle and not fall off.....forever!!! My theory is that the yamaha motor is much shorter and the center of gravity is lower, but thats just my guess. Its a night and day difference then my other X2s!! No tubbies on the lightweight and I dont plan on installing them this season. I am just in love with the way the boat handles and as of now I just dont think I need the tubbies with the new SJ style nose.

Part of that is you took off all the hood weight and the tower on a stock ski is really heavy as well.

Should pick her up her own. The more X2s you own, the better chance one will not be broken down...LOL

Lightweight made its maden voyage into some decent sized surf today. I am afraid what would happen if you hit a wave over 20% throttle....You would go into orbit! Ski ran really good and I put 2.5tanks of gas through it. I ********ING LOVE this ski! I think I might have to sell one of my stock X2's, because there is no way I'll be riding those anytime soon. With the Wammer trim all of a sudden flat water is not boring anymore!

Did I mention that I ********ING LOVE this ski?
