Custom/Hybrid List of hull builders that stand by there products

If you buy something not proven then I strongly suggest getting the details on WHAT HAPPENS IF .................................. carved out before $ is sent. I am not bashing any NEW BUILDERS HERE. But lets face it, Most of these hull builders are not "COMPOSITE ENGINEERS" there is trial and error involve.

Hope it is not so but if i see posted pics from "drybagged" glasparts i think it is so:-(((.

We gone the in the other direction..... Build a very strong sandwich hull and a lighter version for me. My hull can ride everyone in flatwater, v-wake and surf. If it the saison ended with no problems on my hull it was the layout for next years ordered hulls. We play this game since 2008 and last year we had the first crack on my hull in handlepolearea under hood. Celcoat crack only but now i know at this point it is not so easy to save more weight.

So we give a 2 years warrenty for cracks they not beginn or end with a hard scratch. This is the only problem with sandwichhulls: you dont can crack it while jump high/falling in the water but you can crack it by falling on stones .

. Much like Rhaas did with his motor mounts, of which I am on set 5 (just to give you an idea of how hard I am on unbreakable stuff).
Just curious how long it took to go through FIVE sets of those!? Free replacement or not I would go another direction maybe!?????

What do you mean by drybagged glass?

If this doesn't count lmk and i'll edit my post.

But Steve (Trendsetterz/ Backie Chan) has commited to replacing my hull because of a issue with the gel coat. He has stayed in touch with me and we've agreed that i'll ride what I have through the end of the season and he'll send my replacement during the winter/ before the end of the year.

I guess since it hasn't actually taken place I guess someone could call BS, but considering this forum is the only place he advertises, and he committed to doing it in front of god and everyone... I expect that it will happen.
I actually had the Same problem with my gelcoat he said ride it until the end of summer and then he will fix it for free I think he is a standup guy but we will see ;) proof is in the puddin!

I have read 2 Negative EME feedback threads in one day.... I dont think they can say they have excellent custmoer support or fully behind anything. This really bugs me they have the nerve. On the other side, ive heard of stblaze08 replacing 3-4 things he sent out, or promise too just in last day as well. The only company that is a true corp i cant see doing this is x scream, i know they support there products for the most part

Personally I would steer more towards a company that doesn't need to send out replacement parts/hulls in the first place.

I rarely ever consider warranty into any purchase decision. If there is ever a strong possibility that I will require the warranty on an item before it has served it's purpose, then I am not looking at the right company and will continue shopping around.

Agreed. I will say chit happens and at least Steve at Trend Setters is stepping up to the plate from what I've seen. I don't personally own any of his hulls but for him to offer a full replacement hull For cracked gelcoat and also allow the person to keep riding the rest of the season on his current hull (Swapmeet) is the best warrantee I've seen in this business. I'd rather buy quality than a warrantee but what he's doing is huge and says a lot about his business standards. Hull manufacturers can come on this thread and say they stand behind their product all they want but I've heard of other negative situations where they were too busy selling new hulls and couldn't find the time to repair their warrantee work. I would think that would be top priority to keep a good reputation for having a good product and standing behind their work rather than meeting promise times on a new hulls. I understand making money is the main goal but if you want to continue doing so then you should drop everything to fix a defective product and keep your current customers happy. Word of mouth in this industry is huge! I won't necessarily listen to someone's opinion of how a hull rides unless I try it myself just because different people like different things but when it comes to quality and accountability from a hull manufacturer I'm sure we are all looking for the same thing and I'd like to know everyone's experience good or bad before buying a hull.

We fully stand behind our product. We offer a 1 year warranty as you've already stated. Our hulls are built for Eric Malone to ride and go 30+ feet in the air (numerous times)... therefore they are extremely strong :Banane09:

I can attest to the original Q8 holding up to serious punishment. Cannot attest to the warranty first hand as I never had to use it. Eric going 30 feet high is different them alot of us as he generally lands them correctly LOL.

Whats the right way to do it, infusion?

unless you have ALOT of experience with infusion I would not recomend it personally. It is a tough process to perfect. The potential for dry spots is huge. Prepreg is the best IMO if you can afford it and have the means to work with it (refrigerator and oven and so forth).

I am no pro, just giving my opinion. Epoxy, carbon bagged or prepreg are proven strong. Any hull I have seen infused (hull wise) had issues. Just my experience, again I am not a pro.

No limit rope over extending pole gell is gonna spider..... Holly wood had the gel chip off one of his rear gunnels I told I would handle it... Robins was a new technique to get gel to stick to epoxy didn't work.... The bugs are worked out... And I will 100% stand behind our products.... Infusion is the only way to go in my eyes.... As far as :):):):) breaking..... There ain't a hull builder in the world that hasn't had things break... Just when you spent 8-10k your not gonna go bash or destroy the value of your hull running your mouth about it on the x .... Your gonna let the builded make it right and hopefully be happy

2.5 years, I was one of the first ones to purchase my original set from him. Then they broke. He warrantied them no problem, but I got another set done up, so as not to have down time. I start with a fresh set each season so far, and have replaced them 2 weekends in a row a month ago. Robin now has told me to stop just replacing the broken ones, replace and send back the whole set. It is a pain in the ass to be replacing failed mounts all the time, however Robin has never ever not held up his end of the bargain and not done what he told me I would do. I cant stress enough that most riders will have no issues with his mounts! I am very, very hard on my gear! I go big, I never bail, and I dont land many tricks. I am the king of the 1/2 -3/4 completed flip and barrel roll!

He is a great guy, and stands behind his product 100%, but until I start landing tricks, I might give the 701 industries mounts a shot. neither my fiancee or myself appreciate me wrenching on weeknights. If anyone else out there think they have a good mount design I challenge you to have me try them for a week or two. If its gonna break, I'll Break it!Copy (2) of DJC_6691.jpgCopy (2) of DJC_6692.jpgCopy (2) of DJC_6693.jpgCopy (2) of DJC_6694.jpgCopy (2) of DJC_6695.jpgCopy (2) of DJC_6696.jpg

the problem with breaking mounts is, it sometimes takes out other :):):):) with it , when the motor falls out. you get the mounts free but the other grenaded :):):):)s on you. if it happens on a regular basis, it would get old real quick. i'm audi guys, i gotta go home and put mounts in again........ i was thinking about getting some of these but i'm a gorilla thrasher too and need bullet proof stuff if possible.

Needless to say my midshaft and coupler are getting replaced this off-season. but hey you have to keep Jetmaniac in business right? The worst part about the above pic sequence is that I missed the other hour that this guy was plowing for us and snapping high quality pics of us. I broke my last set of mounts (all 4) on that very pancake.

Couch mounts aren't indestructible. I've killed them. I've never used RHAAS mounts but the new billet mounts he has seem to be designed much better than any OEM mounts. I ride with a few guys who have the RHAAS mounts that like them. Don't know anyone that runs the 701 mounts but their products are good quality
