Corey from what I read on you other post it sounds like you did really good. Not only was it your first time in competition but also your first time in surf. Good Job.

I think I will be there both days if I can borrow a trailer from someone.

I can hold for anyone that day, I will not be racing or anything so I will be free.

Corey - I think it takes balls do compete for the first time, no doubt - especially the first time in surf! Good job man, I am sure you will progress fast!

(To those who don't know, I sold Corey his first ski, a 1982 Kawi 550, about this time last year, so he is progressing super fast!)

How is the new site compared to the old one? Will you need a 4-wheeler? I know at the old one you could get by without one if you had a tote. Is the race hotel at the same location as last year?

The Hawthorne is 3.4 miles from the site
The Econo is 2 miles. (according to mapquest)

If you look on page 1 of this thread, there is a Link to the Ramsey Creek site. Sometimes it comes up and sometimes it doesnt.
You may try getting intouch with CS performance. They can probably give the best hands on description of the site.

This site is a little bigger and its all paved, not shure on the wheeler, may need it. As for hotels they are a couple of miles from the site. Dose any one know if Mr. bruce is competing?

Mike young used to let the Freestylers do 2 min in the morn then 2 in the afternoon. A qualifying/placement round then the actual competition.
The $50 for freestyle is low compared to some regions. But I have seen them as low as $35.

As far as the First timers, dont forget they have to fork out the cash to join the APBA for a year or do a weekend fee. Either way the ball bounces, its gonna land in your wallet.

With all that said, I'm all for lower fees.

Good pics Grif but that sucks about all the rocks on shore. Hopefuly someone will help me. The weather should be bad all this week then it is supposed to clear up over the weekend. So it should be good.

I am going to be going to the competition this saturday. I am wondering If I will be able to launch my ski at ramsey creeek park. and ride and be able to beach it away from the race area.

Corey - no worries - I was really proud of you in Myrtle Beach...competing (especially in the surf) is a daunting task and I wasn't bored watching you at all. When Negative Nancy's want to saq up and compete themselves, THEN I'd take notice of their comments, until then, just consider the source. ;)

Mike Young has hired me to fly back out from the west coast to course marshall for this event, so I'm really looking forward to seeing you all compete..and of course getting to actually hang out with Ronnie and Ally in the evenings.

See you all in a few days,
LP
