I know Im new to skis still but why do you have to swap out the pump? Is the 300 pump just not enough?

the 300 pump is too small , impeler diameter is arround 120 mm , Yam is 144 mm.
if you want put in , a big engine , 120 is not enough .

faced with the difficulty of finding the right thickness of foam on my island, I used foam 5 cm then I'll cut to the proper width, lot of extra work, but I had no choice.

Very nice build, I picked up a 300 myself and plan on starting a build like yours, near yhe end of the summer. Cant wait to see how your side sponson turn out, do you plan on extending the side rails

That looks eerily similar to a SJ hull I started on last year, then ended up sawzalling into pieces so it would fit into the dumpster this summer.

no no, not mine, we haven't dumpster on our island .....i'm still working on it , but very hard to find sheet foam , and I just changed my job, and difficult to find enough time in the week, so , i work on ,just the Week end ....

yes it's coming, it's coming....
but in my country, with have all the time, sunshine, waves, water at 29 degrees, but nothing , no, almost nothing to work with vaccum system, i'm still waiting my stuff....
in same time , i' m working on, to make a mold too , hehehe

and last thing, we haven't winter here, and we ride all the time , it's difficult to find enough time to work on my project :Banane25:

How are you gonna run motor mounts in it? Are you gonna run a metal plate along each side and use the stock 300sx mounts?

today , I don't know , it seem to go with aluminium plate and stock 701 mount ....I hope so, more easy ;-)))
