Look what just walked in from anodize.

Thanks.

Actually those cases are exactly like mine, as I have been building them since 2007. ;)

These are setup for a TPE top end, but could be made to fit the other billet cylinder. I switched the transfer area to a TPE style in 2012 or so.

Beautiful cases man! Are these exactly the same as the DASA billet cases? Are they a direct fit for my 16mm crank works crank and DASA top end?

This looks amazing! One question, do you know if this is typical type 2 anodizing or type 3( hardcoat) anodizing... Only reason I ask is type 2 anodizing will start to fade due to the excessive heat( i.e. long period of heat cycles can make black ano turn greyish)...

Just wondering.. looks gorgeous..

Of course I know. ;) Def type 2.

If I was planning on doing type 3(hard) the main bore would have to be increased slightly in preparation, or masked, and the case halves mating surface would have to be masked...or the main bore of the cases would have to be bored after anodize,...and deck height compensated....it would get complicated quickly on which way to approach the problem of the anodize stackup of type 3, type 2 is mostly just a surface dye, so it "adds" a negligible amount.

The cases don't nearly get hot enough to change the color. The real problem would be UV exposure as that will make them fade over time.

A billet cylinder becomes an issue only from heating up the cylinder to put the sleeves in.

The case and cylinder head shouldn't ever get hot enough in use to discolor.

The other problem with type 3 colors is, other than black, the colors don't match between type 2 and type 3. Type 3 colors are nowhere near as vibrant as type 2. Again, black being the only exception.

I hope that all makes sense.

Thanks for the compliment. :)

I'm probably about to ask a dumb question, but it wouldn't be the first time so why not.

Are those made to fit the standard Yamaha reeds? Seems like for the huge 1200 motors you would probably want something bigger, and since you're machining the case you can make it fit whatever you want.

Edit: and I also find them to be beautiful droolworthy chunks of artwork.
