Does anyone know any good stand ups that are fast but also are good on gas I just had an sxr but I sold it because of the amount of gas it burns but I need something still fast

The 650sx had the longest legs of two stroke stand ups.

run stock compression and run 87 octane? Or swap jets and run e85?

SXR stock got about 52-55 minutes on 3.5 gallons. (verified 100s of times with my Go Pro)

SXR with Wet Pipe gets about 42 minutes on 3.5 gallons.

High and Low jet sizes increase as well as RPMs.

It's making 22.5% more power and runtime shows.

Kawasaki standups have a little tuning in their stock exhaust where Yamaha standups did not. A mild pipe can be tuned somewhat lean at part throttle and improve BSFC over an open exhaust.

I think it depends on what you call fast. Are you talking 48ish like a stock sxr? Or are we talking 53+ like a piped/modded sxr? My tweaked 650sx runs 43/44 consistently with a modified stock exhaust and stock tiny 28mm carb.......and I can literally ride all over the lake all day long on 4 gallons. More speed takes more power.......more power needs more fuel.....PERIOD.

The way we all save on fuel costs is with a magnetic fuel saver. the problem is your fuel looks like the left of the picture and it needs to look like the right.

get a 550 with a westcoast 5.5gal tank with a single carb. you could ride all day on that 5.5 gallons if youre looking for fuel consumption.

Those tanks ruin the 550 hull. So much weight in the front, it'll dive into turns!

Skip the 5.5 tanks.

How many gallons a yr are your burning? Fuel economy should be a non factor if your into any sort of powersport. That's literally the cheapest part of the equation. The redline mix I run almost equates to the cost of the fuel when you do the math. If our pinching pennies with 2 stroke engines so tight your worried about fuel. Take up hiking or disc golf instead.

Also. I may be biased as I haven't paid for gas or diesel in over 3 yrs as it's part of my salary.

I know it’s your life goal to talk poop to everyone but you might consider the scenario that this guy doesn’t always ride 50 yards from the landing and perhaps he needs the ski to be better on fuel so he can go further.
