Sorry to hear about your loss. I had the same type of thing happen to me. I lost my hood too, but I was able to salvage the boat.
Moving forward, if you happen to go with the SXR style top with no hood hooks again. This home made hood hook might help. Now when I shove it sideways it holds pretty good. Just a sj ebox bracket and some bent aluminum with a hole in it.

The best part is he wont be paying for it. He will be using mine. I am buying one for a similar underwater search and sending it to him to use and I figured if I am going to have it sitting my room I might as well let somebody get some use out of it for the time being. I am just hoping it pays off.

That's licoriceing badass and a integrity move.
The trouble with the location is visibility is 1.5ft and the amount of silt coming out of the bay year round would have long buried it if it's there. Need some kind of metal detecting sensor to pickup on the block or rrp pole. I'm hoping it moved to clearer waters before it went down.

We looked with a camera. You can't find anything. We would Just send it down when we scanned a blip on the side scan sonar.
