Go talk to him like an adult. Just you being polite and sane with him might make him feel like enough of an ass to not bug you anymore

Just be careful, I had a nieghboor who was the same way. Now all my buoys have been slashed and both my ski got sugar in there tanks, resulting in one blown motor

My neighbor hood is like this every one has a four wheeler, dirt bike, golf cart or scooter. Everyone in the neighbor hood was cool with it and had no problem. Its not like we rode all the time just sometimes. A new guy moved in and in the first week the cops were at our neighbor hood talking to everyone because he called the cops on us. I say if they cant come ask nice then screw them until they ask nice dont do a thing. When they ask nice and act like an adult then do something about the noise.

I had a neighbor like that and there was no pleasing him. I was nice and talked to him everytime he yelled and kept him pacified as best I could. He was an angry person and he he was going to yell at someone, I tried to keep if from being me. Eventually he shot himself in the head with a shot gun and I didn't have to worry about his complaints again.

I'd hate to think what he would have done to me if I TRIED to piss him off.

Old farts and obnoxious young males never mix well. Unfortunately the former has more credibility, time, and money so they will automatically win a nuisance complaint. I dont understand why anyone would even ride a lour ski much less make one so. I think this is why we use to have big wars, they gave uncivilized young males a constructive way to be what they are.

That's the thing, it's not nearly as loud as another on the lake. I would gladly have tried to settle this like adults, bit this guy thought yelling at me in front of all his visitors was the way to handle it. Perhaps I will try to talk sensibly to him when he does not have a large group hanging out to show off to. I would rather not have a problem, but I will never please everyone.

im running an old school tri-oval water box, with side ex, and rear ex....and even to me it's too loud, but then again the power is nice. people will bitch about anything, the neighbors dogs always bark, my roommates always bring friends over at 4 am when im trying to sleep, gas prices are too high, it's too hot, it's too cold..... people with bitch, so i say screw it and ride. if he throws a fit, just say your sorry and that you compete, and you have to practice. braaappp

Here's the key ^^^^^^

The guy had friends over and you're out there riding making a ton of noise. Do you have a thumping car stereo and like to pull up to people at stop lights with it blasting too?

There is a time and place...

May not have been the best time to play around in front of his dock... However, if it's any consolation, I'm sure some of his guests probably thought he was over the top and a total D-bag.

Just smile big, wave and ride away
my ski is loud, but it gets drowned out by the Harleys running across the dam
or the jetboats with megaphone exhausts on 455s.

I find the best thing to do is to treat them (idiots) like long lost friends: BIG smile, BIG wave, ride away.

It drives them NUTS!

Loud pipes don't save anything. They're flat out annoying. Get a decent waterbox and stop running around with the ricer mentality. This applies to those Harley jackoffs too. You're the only one that wants to hear that noise. Loud does not mean fast. Even as a rider, I get mad at the no waterbox or loud exhaust people. I like motorcycles but I hate straight pipes. Your loud pipes do you no favors and only further the general sense of hatred towards you (no one in particular, just those who insist on going wfo all the time).

Just remember that everybody has bad days. He might have had those friends coming over, and his gf/wife was giving him a ton of grief that he should be installing the new faucet. He might have had the friends come over to go boating, and the boat wouldn't run. Sure, he should have come over to talk with you, but everbody blows up from time to time for reasons that aren't related to the issue. Then again, he might be "one of those guys".

to the OP:
Why the Heck would you want to make a friend like that anyway?
Guy sounds like a complete tool!

I would probably talk to the guy, but don't be a b!tch about it. Explain to him that you'll try to be more aware of how loud your ski is around the dock area or whatever, but suggest that he be more polite the next time he has a issue.

Speaking of obnoxious pipes. For some reason I thought this was a good idea.
