Making of the SNX Hull

It's by PPG. I'll have to see what the name of it is. I've heard slick sand and feather fill are good as well. Probably any polyester based high build will work fine for this purpose.

Its been awhile since I've checked in on this thread.
Man you sure have been busy too. Great work all around I can't wait to see one someday.

Likewise. We need to meet up at one of the freerides. Are you going to world finals this year? Or Daytona in January?

Trimmed and peel ply removed. Nice smooth texture and nearly zero air voids in the mold.

Frekote always leaves a slightly dull finish when molding off of duratec for some reason. No matter how perfect the finish is on the plug. Polished it up with m105 and 205 (love this compound and polish).

Also, I laid up different levels of veil and mat skin coat in different areas to see what the minimum skin coat needs to be to avoid print through on the infusion step. The top and bottom flange area was 2 veil and 1 mat. Sides was 3 veil and 1 mat. You can see the print through transition from the top and bottom to the sides (very little), and then the part area itself has zero print through at 3/2 veil/mat.

This pole has the end cap cut off, 3" taken out, and then the cap bonded back on and transitioned into the body. First sleeve is curing. Adding a second sleeve tonight. In addition to the heavier layup in the tongue, the edges were trimmed at a smaller angle down the tongue. This should add some additional support.

Most of the materials have arrived for the remaining poles. Still waiting on some sleeves though (after you guys see how good the straight carbon looks, you might want to change your sleeve choice...)
