That's the plan.
I put a couple of extras on the bottom.
You're right. Thanks for the compliments guys.
I will probably give it another 2-3 coats of clear next weekend, and then let it cure for a week.
Or I might leave it alone with the 2 coats of clear it has now.
Generally speaking, yes.
Since the only reason for more clear at this point would be to flatten it out a bit, I would sand it lightly with 600-800 grit.
A scuff pad is enough, though.
Every color coat had a couple coats of intercoat clear added to it.
If the next coat goes on in one hour or less, no scuffing is required.
Other than that, scuff between every coat.
That's what the intercoat clear is for - scuffing. As long as you don't scuff/scratch the underlying color (especially pearls), no scratch marks will show. Scuffing puts very very light scratches into the surface, but it is absolutely possible to scuff right through the intercoat and base if you're trying to scuff away a little speck. Ask me how I know.
Thank heavens for airbrush touch-ups. I am my own worst critic on this - I know where all the bad spots and screwups are on this paint job.
Edit: scuffing is done with a maroon scuff pad. Kind of like a brillo pad.
