The day has finally come, and I got my aftermarket hull. I ordered this hull straight from Jeff/WDK and it was a great experience! I was searching for a few months, and I know I frustrated many people during my search, but I wasnt going to settle for something that I didnt think was a good deal or that I just didnt want.

I randomly stumbled across the deal on this hull through another member when I sent him an offer for his hull, and after talking with him about the new RIP, I ended up calling Jeff and after a few hours of talking multiple times with Jeff, I settled on the RIP.

I will write more up about my build later, but for right now, here are some pictures. I am super excited for this ski. I loved the Rok-R and it was one of the skis high on my list, and this hull just improves upon the Rok-R. I have some videos of what the RIP is capable of, and everyone will be amazed.

I told Jeff the color scheme I wanted, gave him a little freedom to show me a few options on the wrap, and this is what I ended up with.

Then we talked about turfing. I told him what I was thinking and this is how it ended up.

I know that its probably been said in another thread, But what are the differences between the RIP and the RoK-R?

Good looking hull, congrats.

Thanks!

Changes as far as I know are:
- Integrated splash lip into the nose
- resigned pump tunnel
- redesigned hood. Air intake is different and it is slightly lowered/angled forward in the back I believe
- Normal style Ride plate. The Rok-R had the full width adjustable length ride plate which left the area above the ride plate open. The new style ride plate with closed in rear end helps with recovery from tricks.

I may be missing something else, but I think that covers most things.

interesting with no intake grate...let's see how this plays out Cotton!

Usually you have to pay double for that kind of action!

From the videos I have seen of the RIP in action, doesnt look like an intake grate is necessary. Also in these videos of 6+ 1-footed flips in a row, they are using a stock GP 155 pump.

From talking with Jeff (I am no engineer, so just roll with me here), the thought process is that these big pumps flow so much water through them, that they really keep the hull sucked down to the water, and with having an aggressive scoop grate, there is a pocket of air that is created behind the scoop blade that and obviously you dont want tons of air going through your pump or you will cavitate and not get maximum thrust....that is how I interpreted it.

I was just making a funny. Again another theory on pumps/pump tunnels/pump intake grates that will be a mystery.
