I picked up these two hulls today, and I am planning to build the RN for this upcoming season. I know this hull used to belong to DAGS, and I am going to bring it back to life! It will look very similar to how it looked when DAGS parted with it. Here is a picture of what is looked like in its glory:

*Taken from DAGS build thread, hope you dont mind!

And here are a couple pictures from today:

So as of right now, my first step is to clutch my wallet and cringe :scared: I am somewhat new to the sport, but I have some people that I can turn to with a lot of experience!

Oh and thanks to DAGS for having small feet....the footholds are perfect for my size 8.5s lol. :beerchug:

I dont have any formalized plans other than I am going to be building a Hood and Nose Piece identical to what was previously on this hull, which came from 24/7. Other than that, Im going to look for deals on parts and plug away.

I love build threads, so I will keep this updated always!

Subscribed.

You gonna shorten it or anything?

At this point, I have no plans to shorten it. I have very minimal experience on a superjet. I built an X2 last summer as my first ski, but always wanted to build an SJ. I want to get it functional before I start chopping it up lol. However, I might chop the crap out of the SN hull!

This thing done yet? Lol

HAHAHAHAHA, you're pretty funny Havens. Go check on your build thread.

it looks like it is in decent shape except the turf, is it?

The hull is in great shape, and so is the turf. It just looks rough because its dirty in the pictures and dash needs to be re-turfed.

I think the white gas cap and white hood looks good on that.

Eh, it looks ok but not how it will end up. That hood is how it came out of the mold with Gel Coat. The Gas cap will be replaced, and my new hood will be Visual Carbon.

And here is a little progress for today. I prepped the engine bay last night and today, and I put down my first coat of paint in the engine bay. It turned out pretty good for the first coat.

Made a little more progress last night and today.

Last night, I finished painting the engine bay, it turned out pretty good! No pics, Ill get some later.

I also picked up the RN pole that I am going to be running. I think it is -3 right now, but I might shorten it a little bit more. Then I will most likely wrap it in carbon, because that will look pimp!

Ill take pictures some day this week. My progress in the past week was test fitting a lot of parts, acquiring a crap load of parts, and getting kicked out of my girlfriend's garage....by a friggen NEIGHBOR.

I picked up almost a complete 62t motor with dual 38s, a pump, random hardware, 61x cylinder. I have been becoming email buddies with Paul Lehr (super helpful dude, thanks paul!) and I think I am going to have him put me together a killer 61x/62t set up.

I almost finished the pole set up. I dont have pictures of it finished yet, but I shortened it almost another inch, JB welded and riveted the bottom on, and gave it a coat of black epoxy appliance paint. It turned out really well!

Better pictures to come this week.
