Pulled the motor to get to the midshaft. Midshaft didn't want to come off because it was siliconed on already. So I left it because I figured out that the midshaft sealing to the bulkhead wasn't the problem. I noticed a hole in the side of the housing. It was threaded. Hello! No grease fitting. That could pull in a lot of air couldn't it? Good thing I had an air leak in the pump or else I never would have known until I burned up my midshaft bearings because of no grease. I'm 99 percent sure this was the problem. I didn't get a chance to put it back together because my kids and wife wanted to go out on the boat. I'm frustrated that I went through the trouble to pull the motor but have to say it was easy compared to a superjet because of the abundant room around the motor. Paul didn't come but plans to later this week. I'm working a half day tomorrow so I'll get it together tomorrow. Ride report coming tomorrow.

On a side note. I saw Waternut get a 3/4 backy with his stunt hull off my boat wake today.
Go John!

On stock housings the grease fitting hole is located between the bearing and seal to yield a grease pack to not let moisture get to the bearing. Depending how good the seal is working it MIGHT be a problem, put in a zerk fitting and grease it and hopefully you won't have any air going in the shaft tube.

I know I didn't mention this earlier but since the BOB hull has a funky midshaft, you might want to check with the jetski clinic and find out how much grease those things are actually supposed to take.

Working a lot. Cavitation problem ended up being due to a misaligned pump shoe. Derrick was all about resolving the problem as quickly as possible. I should have the custom pump seal he is making today and I plan to ride on sunday. He also threw in a front foot hold like Ross Champion has on his ski and some red carbon/kevlar so the engine bay stays looking nice.

Thanks Derrick for great service after the sale.

Plenty of hull builders out there would have ignored your phone calls and left you stranded

This I know... All I got was a half @ssed apology like I was 3 years old and that was supposed to make everything better. Props to the jetski clinic for trying to make things right.

My Highroller waterbox is already falling apart after 15 minutes of riding. I have tried to glue it back together with some leftover pliogrip. I'm not thrilled.

Unfortunately, that seems to be par for the course... While you've got it out, you might as well throw some fiberglass on it as added insurance.

Paul, Waternut, and Pablosecobar came over today and we put it through the paces. The Jetworks motor setup with the 144 mag pump with 14/19 prop was spot on with the carbs being set exactly where Art told me to put them. I am THRILLED with the power. The hull wants to come out of the water with every blip of the throttle so I guess the carbs could be off a little bit but there was no way for us to tell.

The pump seal Derrick sent me worked great. The hull is so light it's rediculous. It wants to backflip. It wants to backflip even when I just want to jump a wake. I was working on them today but seem to have a mental block that makes me come out of the footholds and do a ghostflip instead. I'm not consciously scared but I keep finding myself bailing before I even start. I tried about four times but the rough water made it hard to stabilize and do a setup wake. I plan to do it when the lake is nice and calm this week. I'm still having issues getting used to riding a short hull with a wide tray and the chop wasn't helping at all. Paul got about 60 percent around without even pulling the trim(he forgot about it). The motor got some water in it (I have no bilge pump in it) and after that the battery died. We had been out for a while at that point and called it a day.

My wife took some pics and John had is gopro with him so some pics and footage should be up soon.
