Anyone interested in a winter ride? Maybe sometime January? I also dont know a place yet. Let me know if your interested?

No ....South Haven? We ride there quite a bit throughout the summer. I have a place off of park and wells.

Thanks it should be done next week. Im puttin the turff on and a few other things then its all done. Just let me know where and when and Im down to ride for a bit. I have some friends in Chicago that might wanna ride to Ill give them a call and see.

bout 30 air temp and 40 water temp

Here in South Haven the air temp is 38. The water surface temp is 36. O Ya its f-en cold. And there's no waves. lake is flat. No fun today. My cuz workes at the water treatment plant in town so I can get the intake temp and the surface temp. And its accurate. They take the temp once an hour.

If the ride is closer to southhaven it will be warmer or hothole in Monroe. I will ride waves just so long as we have at least 65 combine temp. Slippery drysuit/3mm hat under a helmet and hand warmer FTW.

I'm sure myself and two of my buddies would cone down. We just rode Monday nite on lake Michigan up here- wasn't too bad at all Or maybe it just because we all just finished our Bob Gen 2's and are itchin to ride.......

cool. im just starting my bob gen 1 transfer. should be done in a week. looks like this ride could be quite a turnout

I'd come up and ride the hot hole in monroe...

Anyone ever make at trip to the hole once the ice starts to set up? I'm not sure if you can get to the hole from any of the launches.

So looking at the google sat images of the hole, it looks like the path leading past the fishing pods on the west side of the channel leading from the plant ends up at an area that looks launch-able. It's about 2000' from the road though. I may scout it out one of these weekends, see if it's possible to get a cart down there.

The area around the hothole and harbor are all fenced off and/or private property. I scoped out the whole area a couple years ago while looking for a better place to launch from. Even the old "doglady island" park is closed and gated. Too bad, since that was the only place I found that look remotely usable. Once the ice forms you'll have a hard time getting to the hothole from the harbor.

From the boat launch its about a 5 minute ride in normal conditions.

I must be turning into a wimp as I age......doesn't even sound fun anymore. If there is open water after Daytona I will probably do a quick flush/ride but that's about it.
