it might be a good idea to link or attach the nice write up jetmaniac did for the install depths of the midshaft into the housing.
at least I think he did one. it might be getting carried away but I believe #zero did a list for reduction and steering diameters and now you should have all the relevant details about drivetrain in one place.

I know im an idiot for this but I keep saving the old aluminum steering nozzles thinking someday I will machine all the junk off the outside and have an extended nozzle on the cheap. lol like thats ever gonna happen

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it is 1" longer than OEM so 26+1=27“

I have one on the shelf at home that Jetmaniac made for me and if I remember correctly, it is 27.25" normal is 27" but we added a bit for some extra spline engagement for the SS865.

Does anyone know the length for the driveshaft to be used with a setback mag pump on a superjet?

Overall length for a setback shaft for Skat pump is about 25 3/8" for a '90-'07 SJ. The shaft is shorter overall because the rear is shaft is so much shorter than an oem style shaft.

Jetmaniac will know as well and also be able to build and ship you a custom made driveshaft that is better quality at a fraction of the cost compared to a Skat Trak shaft.

M5, is this going in your mod hull? If so, you need the additional set back for that hull. (off the top of my head, I think it is 4 inches, so you would need +4+1 for the set back pump) If this is for a stock hull, them whatever stock length is, plus @1 inch. Measure a stock shaft and have Jetmanic make you one that is the proper length longer. Also, you will have to have the rear of the shaft cut down to fit into the set back housing.

Thanks for the info. This is not for B1 mod hull. That boat is dry docked until I can reattach the carbon kevlar liner and bulkhead. But that's a whole other story lol.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by cutting the rear of the shaft?

When you add a set back pump, the bearing area of the pump is decreased in length because of the set back. So, the bearing area of the shaft (rear) has to be cut down (shortened) to fit in the pump. If you didn't, the shaft would stick out of the back of the pump.
