Well after my spring break trip out to Pismo and Lake Havasu, my Kavinci pump decided it no longer wanted to be in my ski. The bottom two bolts pulled the threaded inserts out of the pump shoe and the pump separated at the bottom. Now my wear ring has some large scrapes and my impeller is questionable...

I believe I was one of the last in the states to still be running the kavinci pump, but figured its best to cut my losses. I decided to upgrade to the H2O Designs 148 set back pump. Now just to decided what to run for trim...

Damn thay sucks! Did you helicoil the shoe? Im just curious, how the failure might have happened. Bad metal quality or improper installation or just bad luck or a combination of things?

I dont think krash installed the helicoils correctly.

Yeah they sent me a new one right away and its the one im running now. But when I did the final install and tightened everything down I stripped one out.. lol. But since I literally just glued the shoe in i said hell with it and ran it anyway.

Damn, my Krash pump is still holding up but I only rode it 4 times in the fall. Hopefully it lasts this summer, I really don't want to pull the pump.

I probably had 6-7 rides on this pump. As far as I can tell, the only reason it failed on me is due to the helicoils pulling out of the shoe.

That sucks so much buttcheek. Wow, sorry to hear. That Kavinci pump setup is no bueno, at least our early ones.

Nice choice on the H2O, love mine! I replaced the shoe and everything since I returned the 'stage 2' kit parts. Worx shoe wasn't too bad to install.

When you returned yours, I was contemplating doing the same, but mine was actually aligned correctly and worked up until this point. Just one of those expensive lessons...

My first pump didn't even last 1 ride. That being said my second one they sent is still kickin and has TONS of hours on it.

When I replaced my pump I spent HOURS fitting the shoe into my ski. Looking back on it I think the oem plastic shoes are the only way to go

The rest depends on whether I can still use the Kavinci pump shoe, or if i have to pull that out and put my worx shoe in....
