Just watched it and wow what a great movie. I just wish they would have said, "No slavery nor involuntary OR DECEITFUL ILLEGAL VOLUNTARY indentured servitude!"

X2 Matt. I love historical movies. My wife got me this book as a compendium to go with seeing the movie. I'm a tad of a Lincoln buff and enjoy history. What's really eye opening is reading Frederick Douglass's first person accounts of slavery in his speeches given to the American and British public. I just finished a book called "The Citizen's Handbook" which quotes many of the important documents that helped shape this country along with the history of their production and future implications. A more exhaustive (and drier) book is "Our Nation's Archive." It even accounts some of the Native American documents that were produced...League of Nations (Iriquois, Mohawk, Oneida, Seneca, and Onondaga) and such. Good reads for those history buffs.

Django unchained is supposed to be a pretty good history lesson as well. Some have said the use of the N-word was out of control but anybody who doesn't understand why or how it became so offensive should have a rude awakening. My parents are in their 60's and thought it was one of the best movies they've seen in years.

Lol, they'll watch chit that I won't watch. I called to wish Dad a happy birthday,( 62 on the 3rd, and why they were at the movie), and had to listen to Mom rave about it and then run me thru all of her favorite Quentin Tarantino films. What can I say, they are damn cool parents. My Dad may have even taken a couple puffs right before the show....allegedly. :sneaky:

I have heard mixed reviews on Lincoln. I had originally put it in our netflix que after seeing the preview but took it out after hearing a few really bad reviews from people that should have really liked it. It's a great subject and a history lesson this country could really use right now.

Zero Dark 30 was Ok...After seeing Seal team 6 blah blah....

Skyfall was OK also IMO, it drags in quite a few scenes... Not near as good as Casino Royale, or Quantum solice for Daniel Craig 007.
Should of named it "EyesFall"..

Django unchained is off the Chain! Loved that movie the whole way through. I give it 5 stars out of 5. Enjoyed it thoroughly.

When Ted first came to theatres my G/F wanted to go and i said neg, wanst going to see a talking teddy bear talking with adults... But after i saw it on DVD it was pretty hilarious if you take it the for the comedy it is.

Haven seen Lincoln yet, but have heard its excellent and up for a lot of Academy Awards, etc. Cant wait to see it. Love movies like that.

Skyfall kinda blew chunks. I don't maybe I am just looking for more in a movie these days...like some notion of realism...that is why I didn't like the newest Batman. It could have been good but when I see the front of a truck take everything from .50 cal to missiles and not a scratch I can't enjoy the dang movie anymore!

Gonna give Silver Lining Playbook a shot until the kids wake up. It was 60 here today so I wore them down outside all day.

Watched Ted last week. We laughed our asses off for the first 30-40 minutes but felt it took a real dive after that. Still liked it, just didn't love it.

Watched The Dark Knight Rises last night. The series has really gone dark. I will have to watch it again before I pass any judgement beyond "like". I enjoy this series more than any of the previous versions but it invokes a different emotion than most action shows.

Really enjoyed Magic Mike and Expendables II.
