What's the scoop on Life of Pi? Anyone like the last Bourne movie w/o Matt Damon?

Waitin to hear about Life of Pi....I thought the last Bourne movie was really good...it ties it all together...

It wasn't so much that it was a great movie but more the insight into law enforcement and the challenges some of them face. It's an emotional roller coaster between thinking what arrogant dicks cops can be and then seeing them lay their lives own for others.

I usually don't care for that cop shows but this one got me. I haven't slept much in the last 2 weeks so I may be a little more emotional than usual. :biggrin:

Just finished watching Skyfall. Not sure what you guys didn't like about it but I thought it was pretty damn good.

I was really let down by Skyfall. Seemed like a long soap opera to me. growing up in the 70-80's Bond movies had so manyy kool things. Skyfall not so much. Glad you other guys liked it.

I was never really a bond fan so I guess I'm not looking for it to align to any particular format. I find it hard to get into the long legacy series when I come into them halfway. Instead of aligning to any preconceived role model, I am enjoying seeing how his character was built. Watching him grow into the Bond we all take for granted.

I enjoyed the Bourne series and Batman begins for the same reason.

Ugghhh, I can't handle watching those Bond movies anymore (specifically the ones from the 80's and 90's). I enjoyed them at the time, but now they almost seem to be parodies.

Recent watches:

Skyfall - I thought it was good, but a little slow and long
Life of Pi - visually, awesome. Story was pretty cool, too.
Oz the Great and Powerful - wife dragged me to it...... was Ok
Last Man Standing - just like every other Arnold movie
Men in Black 3 - Netflixed it, I thought it was just OK, wife really liked it
The Hobbit - admittedly, I read all the books as a kid, so I really liked it, but I can see how people thought it was too long

Can't wait for Superman, Iron Man3 and even tho I don't care for Tom Cruise, Oblivion looks really good.

Bought The Hobbit on release day. Love it.

Finally got around to Life of Pi. Really enjoyed it. Do y'all think the real story was the second version he gave to the peeps from the freight company? My wife have been having this discussion. I know he alluded to the fact that the other people were represented by the animals.

Gonna watch "Hitchcock" tonight. Psyched!
