Other Movie review thread

As many smart a$$es that are on this forum and this sport in general, I am SHOCKED no one has mentioned anything about Deadpool. Lol. I saw it on Friday and LOVED it. Ryan Reynolds definitely can be annoying in his films, but he was perfect for this role. And, I still can't believe they went with an R rated comic book movie, but I am SOOOOO glad they did. The movie is hilarious. Make sure you stay thru the credits. They even make fun of end credit teasers.

That's all they talked about at work last night and it was killing me since I haven't seen it yet. Been watching trailers for it for over 2 years even.

Boyer,

I almost hate to tell someone 'you HAVE to go see 'X' movie, it is awesome' because different people have different tastes, but if you liked the trailers, I don't see how in the world you won't like the movie. It is very funny and I laughed out loud on more than one occasion. Tried to talk my wife into going to see it on Saturday, but it wasn't in her wheelhouse. Lol

Well, if you were closer, I'd join you, lol. Last time I went to the movies with a guy was when I met Erik from TPE to see Star Wars. As I was sitting in the theater waiting on Erik (anyone who know's him, knows he is ALWAYS late) I was thinking how I was going to mess with him when he showed up late. As he turns the corner and starts walking up the stairs, I yell down to him 'd@mn, e-harmony LIED!' I don't think I have ever seen a dude turn that red before.

Saw deadpool as well this past weekend. I REALLY enjoyed a R comic for a change. I want to talk about it but I don't want to spoil it for any one either. I was laughing my ass off on some parts.

My only fear now is that they are going to dump a ton of money into it for a sequel and ruin it. Part of what made this so good was the desire for Ryan Reynolds and his crew to make it, and make it on a cheap budget. I hope they don't lose sight of that.

I agree 100%. The studio would be an idiot to simply not let the same creative team do the second movie. Besides, they have YEARS of comics to follow. There has been a lot of comic book fans ticked that the studios keep veering away from the comics and trying to make movies so mainstream. If Deadpool proved anything, it's that the comics have been selling for years for a reason. I had my doubts that this movie would be anything more than a niche movie because of the R rating, but I was completely wrong. The studio has to be falling all over themselves that a movie made for 55 mil pulled in near 150 mil on it's opening weekend with an R rating.

I watched The Martian when I was down in FL last month. It was good. Reminded me of Castway but on mars
Watched Straight outta Compton last weekend. It was really good if you were into rap in late 80's and early 90s

everyone at work is talking about going to see batman vs. superman this weekend and im just not into it. the new super girl is smoking though

I feel ya. 30% on rottentomatoes.com. I enjoyed man of steel, but I'm one of those that was pissed that they took all the color out it and they continued that with this one. THEN, they release a trailer that is basically the whole movie in 2 minutes basically ruining the movie.
