Wasn't unpleasant, spoke with you guys exactly once on the phone, and that was long enough to tell you I'd email a few pics over. Me thinks electronic communications implied a different tone.
Went to the X iin frustration after a reply from MSD stating they couldn't cover it under warranty, got a little nasty via email and linked MSD to this forum, egg on my face for that. 1 year warranty, I get it. Simply asked if MSD expected customers to continue shelling out $ if these are only going to last for as long as mine did. These things aren't chump change. Never once did MSD suggest/imply/offer to do anything to work with me on a new one.
Found my card statement, purchased 8/13/09, you got me there. 1,2, 5, 10 years old.... What caused this, bad batch of plastic or do these things get hot with use ? Obviously not a victim to UV.
Thought MSD would appreciate the info so they can see what can be improved for the next go around.

People have already given you solutions. JB weld or OCDsolutions was nice enough to offer you a quality fix with his good potting compound.
Its gooped up for the long run. Thx for the offers to help.

just making a general statement here, but most companies try to get out of their warrantee and have a multitude of loop holes that your problem usually falls under. not in this case

I work in a service department and customer get mad when their vehicles break out of warranty. Whether 1 year or 1 month out. If you have a 3yr/36k warranty..... That's it. At some point manufacturers do have to sell another one of their products. And as much abuse I put my skis through, id be stoked if a performance part lasted 5+ years!!!
