Mukini carb shaft play

is there a spec or a rule of thumb someone has they’ve come up with from experience of when a carb shaft needs to be rebuild, I have dual 46’s and my one carb the shaft has a bunch of play where the one that’s on the throttle cable side with the spring has a little but if I play with it just right like, it has a bit more than I would think is considered “good” I was wondering if there’s a deflection measurement or somthing? Just I got fu**** when I bought a used hull from a guy in Quebec and it’s costing me a fortune to have it repaired along with a complete engine and pump rebuild I’m doing so I’m trying to avoid spending money if I don’t need to but I don’t know if it’s good or not. Was hoping someone here could share their insight regarding carb shaft play.

A friend of mine bought a Wave Venture from a guy there too and same deal. It never ran for long and I got the call from the local Yamaha dealer to go look at it because it had unfamiliar to them parts on it. I just pulled the motor today to find so many serious problems with that motor that my statement is "the idiot that "rebuilt" it, is not just dumb but also lucky because by rights it should never have run at all in its current shape". He screwed this poor guy out of a lot of cash too for a royally beaten machine. I know it can happen anywhere but I hear more horror stories like these coming out of Quebec than anywhere else.
