yep, i cant take credit for it, but you can only do it with 44s.

Why only with 44's? What type of intake manifold are you running to be able use a OEM dual flame arrester? I'm guessing an OEM intake manifold?

the oem flame arrestor can only mount to the plate in one direction. since 44s have 4 bolts on each carb to hold the plate, you just turn the plate around. this cant be done with 38s cause it only has 3 bolts and if you turn it around it wont fit. you can always drillnew holes though

yep, OEM intake manifold. i drilled and tapped it for the throttle linkage.

Gotcha, makes sense now. I'll probably look into drilling new holes when I put my stocker 701 in the lady's square here soon.

Whats the advantage of turning around the flame arrestor like that? It seems to me like water ingestion would be more of an issue turning it around like that because of water being kicked up by the coupler.

that is what the coupler cover is for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, but water still gets turned up back there even with the coupler cover on.
