Just an update. After getting the install kits and seeing they use a 5/16" hole I figured I'd give another idea a shot first. The plain old screws w/silicone held fine on the bottom but not the sidewalls, so I tried using drywall screws with inserts and silicone. So far they're holding good and I've got the blowison kits as backups if they pullout.
My biggest problem the first time i tried is not using washers. The screws weren't big enough to catch the footstrap holes and once you unscrew the screws they'll never catch again in the fiberglass.
