Hey whats up guys, i acquired my first stand up last fall. It was a 92 750sx with very low hours thing was clean and had a few things done to it. I learned the basics last fall and have gotten much better this summer and im wanting to mod my ski a bit for my riding style. Well im not sure what the previous owner has all done to it.
Looking at the bottom of the ski it has a PJS ride plate, and im pretty sure it's got a different intake grate im not sure what brand though. The engine, i can tell has a oil block off plate, as im running premix, has a different flame arrestor as well. I think that's the most that's done to it engine wise besides a bilge pump that's broke (need to get this figured out).
The exterior is all stock, stock turf wich was like brand new when i got it but i've worn it down so need to be replacing with some hydro turf. It does have a different throttle on it, and im not sure if it's got different bars and a quick turn plate?
Here's what i'd like to do with the ski for mods
-Since it's a 92 i'd like to run an advanced timing plate. This will help with bottom end correct?
-I'd like to get a different ride plate. Im about 5'10" 190-200 lbs and i feel like this one is for a smaller rider. Im not sure what a good one to choose is though.
-Id also like to get a intake grate that grabs hard. I love turning and carving on some glass and my rear end always slides out.
-I wouldn't mind getting a quick turn plate either. If it already has one though i don't need one.
-Would love to add a pipe after i get the other things i want done first. I'm thinking a factory pipe but i see a lot about coffmans as well. Could someone point me in the right direction?
-I need to returf my ski. I would like to turf over the purple bumper rails or paint them black? My plan is to eliminate all of the purple and it will probably get footholds and paint this winter.
-I'd also like to run some sort of foothold. Im not running anything right now, i seen some people say use lifter wedges from blowsion, or i was thinking the straps actually. I could install them quick and use it the rest of summer and install real footholds in the winter.
Here's my riding style and what i mainly do with the ski. I live on a smaller lake. Get's real busy on weekends though, it's like 10 minutes from a 200,000 people town so everyones out here on saturday and sundays. I'll take the ski out on these days and do a lot of jumping, and trying freestyle. During the week i get home around 8 and the lake is just glass as no ones out there. This is when i love to cruise some buoys and carve some turns. It doesn't get real rough out here either though, your biggest waves are rollers from a 22ft boat and on windy days your waves are no bigger then a foot.
