There is no excuse for this. And to post it with a thumbs up? You think it's cool? Do people like you have to kill someone before you learn your lesson? To actually do something like this is one thing, but to come on a public forum and talk about it with no regret is another. Don't be a retard and strap your stuff in.

I'm with you 100%.

One of the main reasons I hate pickup trucks so much is because of these dumb a$$ owners who never bother to strap down their loads.
Too good for that, right farm boy ?

What is this!? PWC yesterday!? You guys are jumping all over this guy for nothing, good grief!

I glad that you think that sending a couple projectiles down the highway is NOTHING.

Tell that to the family of a motorcycle rider and his girl who recently died when they ran over a matres that fell off the back of a pickup.
Yep, it wasn't strapped down but that's NOTHING.

I don't recall him saying anyone was killed.

Perhaps he did have the skis strapped in and it was an accident. Perhaps the thumbs up was a sarcastic gesture. Perhaps it is all as you think it is.

If you want to get through to someone and try to prevent things like this, do it with a little respect instead of name-calling and you'll get a lot farther with people.

I'm a motorcycle rider myself, and an emergency first-responder. So I agree things should be strapped in, but stuff happens

And like I said, does he have to kill someone before he learns?

Maybe this time he got lucky with a couple scuffed up skis, but what about next time? Did he learn his lesson? Maybe on his skis, but what about that mattress? This post should have started like this:

 I really did something stupid yesterday. I didn't strap in my skis and while I was driving home and both of my 650s came out on the highway. I got lucky because nobody was hurt and the skis were only scuffed up. Boy did I learn my lesson. Remember to secure your loads everyone"

And I'm still not sure how 2 skis could come out of the back of a truck on accident??? I can see how it would happen from neglect, but not by accident. I've had skis in the back of my truck and they are secured with no less than 4 RATCHET straps each (not those stupid cinch straps). It would take me rolling my truck (over and over) for them to come out, and even then, probably not.

Here, if something comes out, it's like $120, if you hurt someone though, I think it's mandatory jail time plus hefty fines. If you kill someone, they lock your a$$ up for a pretty long time for manslaughter.

I had my 650sx break an Ancra tie down and come out the back of my truck in town once. I'm more careful about how my ski's tied in now and how old the strap(s) are.
