my jet ski fly out of my truck saturday

Have you ever answered your cell phone while driving? Did you cause a wreck and kill anybody? You could have killed 10 people by answering that phone. Do you not think about anybody else while your driving? Have you ever reached over to grab something out of the passenger seat and took your eyes off the road? Have you ever tripped on something because you were looking the other way. I bet you have never knocked anything off a counter before.

If you want to worry and judge about the what if's in the world, then start bitching what if to the face you see in a mirror. then turn to the next person and cuss them out. Please, be the first person to pass judgement, but dont worry, you have never made a mistake, your just the most perfect person in the world according to you.

Have a good night.

Great analogies. I'm sure the same amount of phone calls are made while driving as the number of jet ski's that fall out of the back of trucks everyday.

However, using your analogy, I'll say this in the same context as the OP:

Topic:
 Drove through a playground on saturday

"I answered my phone while driving saturday and doing so drove through a fence into a playground. My truck wasn't scratched, I got lucky."

Do you see the important parts I left out, just like the OP. The part where I didn't seem to give a $hit about human life? I am being arrogant just like the OP seemed in his post. What I displayed as the important part of the story to me, was my truck. So, was the playground crowded? Was anyone hurt?

The important part is not the fact that he dropped his skis on the highway, which he has yet to explain, but the fact that he left out the most important part of the story, which was everybody not everything was ok. We have to assume they were. What ever happened to being humble about your screw-ups? A little humility will get you a long way in life.

At this point conversing further is going to be useless. We have different styles of dealing with things. I'll spank my kid when he does wrong, you will obviously give him a time out and give him the Dr. Phil.

oww i love u :Banane19:

Got a man-crush on me huh? Strap your $hit in (or at least better) next time, umkay?

Again, your Mr. Perfect, you have never made a mistake in your life or had an accident.

It is pretty obvious that someone could have been injured. Your making it out like he did it on purpose, yeah, he did not give much detail but that is beside the point. If anybody had gotten injured I do not think he would have posted.

Hell, he may have been driving down a private road on his own property for all you know. Your Assuming.

I never said I've never been in an accident or made a mistake. My mistakes, your mistakes, this guys other mistakes, have nothing to do with this topic. Why are you trying to muddy the topic with personal attacks on me?

Go back and read my original response. I was appalled by the fact that this guy posted this with a thumbs up and only seemed to be concerned with the condition of his skis, and not how lucky he was to not have caused something major.

I never said he did it on purpose or implied anything of the sorts. Go look at all of my posts in this thread. There is ONE topic on each of them, and that is the OP's arrogance. He posted it like it was cool that he dropped his skis on the road. Do you think it's cool he dropped his skis on the road?. You seem to be sympathetic toward him, so I can't tell.

Hell, he may have been driving down a private road on his own property for all you know. Your Assuming.

Nope, read the original post, he said highway.

To recap: Every post I made had to do with the OP's arrogance. Mistakes like this, that have the potential to do a lot of harm, need to be handled with a little humility. He should be thankful he didn't hurt anyone, not thankful his skis where okay.

Hey Cannibal, look at it from his perspective. His ski's fell out of his truck, they were not damaged. I believe that is what the thumbs up were for.

Like a sigh or relief.

You said I gave you a personal attack, what about your responses to him. I see that as a personal attack on him.

Can't he be both? :bananapowerslide:

Yes he can, however, his lack of concern in the original post leads me to believe that the most important factor was his skis since he didn't mention any thing else. If the fact that nobody was hurt was really weighing on his mind, and he really was thankful of that, I would think it would have been mentioned. Since humans rank higher on my list than my ski (well, most humans anyway), I wouldn't leave them out of a topic like this.

This is my reasoning behind my criticism. You need to suck up your pride when admitting mistakes. There was absolutely no humility in his post. Everyone makes mistakes, it's how we deal with them that makes us who we are.

I did look at it from his perspective. I already posted the response I would have given if I would have done the same thing:

" I really did something stupid yesterday. I didn't strap in my skis and while I was driving home and both of my 650s came out on the highway. I got lucky because nobody was hurt and the skis were only scuffed up. Boy did I learn my lesson. Remember to secure your loads everyone"

I think the OP really dug himself a hole with this one by not giving enough details and elaborating on the situation. It came across as pompous. Maybe he's a nice guy that brings flowers to the nursing homes, I don't know. But his post seemed very arrogant and single-sided.

I was probably a bit harsh with him in my original response and I could have handled it a bit better, but I was quite taken back with his disregard for his surroundings and the people in it.

Maybe we are reading 2 different post, because the guy barely said anything, much less a complete sentence by any standards. "my 1989 and 1990 650 sx went for a ride down the highway the took a beating but no brokeing ski we got lucky". That is all he said, where is the arrogance and pompus statements. Only thing I read into it was the fact that he cannot spell or type a sentence that is legible.

You ever feel like your arguing with a brick wall???

Where I get the arrogance is from the topic:

" my jet ski fly out of my truck on saturday" and also from (as I've stated) his apparent lack of concern with anyone else where he seems to ignore the important human factor of his mistake.

You might be right about the thumb up about not being broken, but the way I read this is the thumb up means he shows no remorse for what happened. Kinda like a Jeff Spicoli "Wooh, gnarly!" Guess we'll never know the real meaning of the icon.

I have obviously interpreted his statements in a much different fashion than you. Again (and again, and again), I expect people to take a humble attitude to mistakes like this that can severely change someone's life. There is not a drop of humility anywhere near this thread.

Just for reference, here are the Antonyms for Humility as defined by Merriam-Webster:

arrogance, conceit, egoism, egotism, haughtiness, pompousness, pretense (or pretence), pretension, pretentiousness, pride, pridefulness, superciliousness, superiority
