Ok guys, as the title says this is my MOMS tigershark 640 montego 1994. I bought it for her. Runs perfect, its in mint condition everywhere. One huge problem. Its a FLOATING"" driveshaft assembly. Which means if the alignment isn't perfect your screwed. Anyway I reved it up on shore and the driveshaft is vibrating big time. It is so bad the ski will cavitate and not move. The driveshaft begins to split and wobble like an inch out after 1/4 throttle. The old coupler dampener was ripped so I tried a new one. Same thing. I though the driveshaft was bent, so I pulled it and put it on a machinist stone table to check if it was flat and not bent, after several observations I concluded it is most definetly not bent. I'd think its the engine alignment. How do I alighn this sucker?

align engine coupler to intermediate coupler without the damper in. The two couplers need to be flush with each other, this is done by shimming the engine. Were the spines ok on the driveshaft? ...make sure the driveshaft is centered to the intermediate shaft. There are youtube videos on how to do it by wamiltons i believe.

its a floating driveshaft assembly though. The driveshaft is not held in a solid position. Its free to float wherever it pleases. It has to be the engine alignment. I'll give it a go.

Ordered a new driveshaft. Idk what else to do at this point. I've tried aligning it, new coupler, new damper, checked all motor mounts, the driveshaft didn't appear bent but what the hell. Throw another $200 at it of it makes a difference lol.

did you check why to not buy a tigershark in the first place? its only a list like 50 items long,

other than that does it wiggle by hand when the engine is off?

Did u check the thorough hull bearing the shaft runs through to see if it's bad or not? If it's bad it could be leaking air into pump and causing cavitation
way off subject man. There's a huge vibration. No leaks, checked all bearings, pump is still like new, entire ski is like new, bought it with title for $150. That's why I nought it lol its just for my mom I don't ride couches. And for the millionth time yes the driveshaft wiggles around its a "floating housing" meaning it moves and not steady in a fixed position. I've tried it all. Well give a new driveshaft a try. After that, well I'm in a bunch with this one.

Sounds like a water migration problem with the pump. Js/sj could help I've heard he's really good with the shaft and it's flow.
