My New 1200 motor

Pfft. Thats all it ever took for flatwater:pokey:

Surf ridin is where the balls are hangin out of your swimsuit.

You guys couldn't be more wrong. You try doing 10 to 12 tricks in 2 minutes instead of the one trick every 5 minutes that you surf guys do. The variety of tricks that we have to do is three times of what you guys do. I'm not putting down surf riders but you should stop and think before you post something like that. everybody does their own thing and that doesn't make one better than the other just different.

been there done that.

yes, flatwater is way more technical and harder to do... but in my opinion... as technique is to flatwater, sack size is to surf.

i ride both (well used to), and flatwater just doesn't give me that rush anymore. i'm sick of riding in the filthy dirty lakes/canals down here anyways.

surf is where it's at.

If I was forced to choose between surf ride once a month, or
flatwater ride most anytime, surf for sure!!

Nothing else duplicates that addrenilin rush from wave riding.:nana:

you couldnt be more wrong...the best part about surfriding is that its not about doing the same crap over and over..bring your ski out someday..or better yet come ride the comp in oct...you can see how easy it is...

Working Hard

Since 2005 at Nationals it has been a dream/goal of mine to qualify for the world finales as a pro. I have been competing for over 10 years and my time is starting to run out at the ripe old age of 36. I love jet ski's and Free Style and think it is ridiculous the people compare flat water and surf riding they are both a blast. As for cash makes you great, that is true in any power sport. You have to pay to play. I started Mountain Bike racing this year and was very surprised how different it is from jet ski competitions. Mountain Biking is all about fitness, about 95% fitness and 5% bike where as Jet Ski's are about 60% fitness and 40% boat setup. The reality is both are awesome just depends on what you want to be when you grow up.

you think thats what surfriding is??...surfriding is about slashing turns...bashing sections, airing over closeouts and generally flowing the natural terrain...when you see a backflip section hit it..but surfriding is MUCH more than that or it should be..granted most guys only go out and do a bunch of backflips but they are as clueless as you are

and to tell you the truth i dont blame you for thinking that because all the videos/pictures and everything only show that stuff...surfriding is surfing with a motor not freestyle with a ramp...real surfriding takes a totally different kind of rider...you need WAVE KNOWLEDGE to be halfway decent..a good "freestyler" cant go out and instantly be a good surfrider cause he can do a backflip...it takes alot of time in the water, whether it be on a board or ski to learn where to turn, what kind of turn etc etc to be a good surfrider..

real surfrider > surfrider > freestyler in surf that can flip > freestyler > joe blow on a standup > sitdown riders

Am I correct?

Apparently I suck because I don't have waves near me, but probably have more time in the waves than most people on here thanks to living in Hawaii and riding 4-5 times/week.

My point=this is stupid, it's just like the MX riders > jetski riders thing or MX > quads, or skate street> skate vert or whatever.

quit typing and go ride whatever is close.

yeah.... surfriding is way harder than any aspect of freestyle or a stupid backflip... i can count on my hands the amount of real surf riders there are.... (that I know of) lots more people rolling on flat water...
