How's the waves?
Thats interesting, I struggled with my pump shoe as well. The pump sat flat and square and the driveshaft was true, but the pump shoe wasn't at a 90 degrees to the pump. I have a 4 to 5mm gap on the top edge away from the hull. I put a strip of wire behind the rubber seal and loads of silicone and it seems to have held. How did you fix yours?
The other thing I found strange was the final exhaust pipe exiting through the hull was way bigger than normal (can't remember the size), I had to sleeve some tube over the outside of the rubber hose and over the exhaust pipe.
Generally though, the quality seems very good, although the gel coat chips very easy.
After putting the pump and midshaft in and out 15 times I tried several different things. My problem was I had a 3-4 mm gap at the bottom between the pump shoe and pump seal. I tried grinding down one side of the seal But that did not work well. What I was finally happy with was removing the bottom screws from the pump shoe and forcing the bottom of it out enough to add some washers behind it to make it flush with the pump. The silicone sealant sealing the pump-shoe was just pliable enough to let the pump shoe move with out ripping it out. Lines up perfect now!
