What front axle do they install? an older ford driver drop hi-pinion 44, or one of the twin beams used in the 80s - 90s? I'm assuming if they stick with coil springs up front they have to be using the twin beams....?

They use either D44 or D60s on the Fords and pretty sure they use the standard GM torsion bar IFS components on the GM vans. (for the Quigley vans that is)

I think the coolest would be ski on the bottom, then a raised roof / high top with enough room for a bunk to sleep in.

THAT would be the hot set up.

Within the next year I'm picking up a used Chevy 1500 Savana 4x4 van. Mainly for work, but I have other plans too
Nothing nutty, I just want to be able to haul a couple skis, gear and a beach cart. But thinking about that sleeping bunk above the skis..... It might be short, but might work out if needed. Food for thought.
