My X2 Build

yeah you guys suck.

gino sold that to you before checking his messages, it was supposed to be mine.

haahaahahhahah!!!!!!!!!

just giving ya'll a hard time
He sold it to me through a message, so he definitely checked them, haha. Sorry dude! I had to try this out. It's so much easier to pull than my home made rig. Of course they are all hard under a load I would assume, but I just hop the back a little bit and unhook the pump on a small pre hop I was doing anyway before rolling and it pull like it does on the trailer, then WHAM. Did I mention that I LOVE this ski?

If I make it to Daytona,,,,,,I want to thrash on yours some, If I make it to Pismo in October, your welcome to fly out and thrash on mine, it sat on the beach most of the time last year.

Absolutely, I insist you ride it! I can always use some tuning advice from the pro's! Hopefully it will be comparable to the crabster before too long. It flies now, and gets better most times I ride. It still needs some tuning, and a few more parts. I wanted to run the stock head for a while to break it in, and just to get a compression reading to make sure my first engine build was up to par. AS of now it's burnt atleast 20 tanks all the way to the bottom and the compression is a solid 160/160. Still haven't bumped the timing either. This thing is about to get the engine bay completely torn apart and gone over. It went together so fast that I neglected to do a few things the way I want it, and I've been having way too much fun riding to want to stop.
I have to get my hands on a new hull brace to get rid of the stockers. Those things are coming out as soon as I get around to getting that brace. Then I'll make me a new air box similar to the one thats on it now, but designed to keep water out completely. Just didn't have the room to do what I really wanted with that stock brace. I have to say though, the cover REALLY helped. This thing would sputter and fall on it's face for 20 seconds every time I land upside down or inverted in a stab or a roll. And of course it's always right in the middle of great swells or something that I only have a few seconds to rip around and hit again. It cut the down time by 80-90%. It still take on a little here and there, especially after riding for a while and you can tell the f/a's have gotten wet a few times.
Other thing is a water box.. Any ideas? I've got to come up with something. Stockers blow. Thats all there is to it. I'll argue it to the end. The FPP/Mariner I was using was way too loud, I mean L O U D. But I swear it felt like it would wind out quicker with it. I've read everyone says they make absolutely no difference, I dis-agree. If you were to swap one out on a lot of ski's to an AM box, you might no feel a thing. I'm no saying it killed it completely or anything, but it definitely choked it up a little. I like the sound of it just fine, but it's heavy, and too restrictive in my opinion. Not sure what I'll use from here, but it has to change!

Is your stock trim rod/cable holding up to the trim system? I destroyed mine this weekend...lol

Yes it is. I had to do all kinds of junk to make it even work. Had to grind out the bracket around the trim rod, and open the holes up where the new trim mounts so I could slide it back. The spring fastener that attaches the rod to the trim piece would hit that stainless bracket that holds the rubber down. I've got it adjusted right now so that that stock trim bar is extended as far as it will possibly go, and have the fastener with like 5 threads on it trying to get it as far up as possible.
Wait, I just re-read your question, haha. I was saying the trim rod is holding up the trip, as in it could go a lot further if it could be tweaked better. And it really could, but I think if got all out of it I'll ever get.
As for your question now that I've told you what I wanted to say, haha, it seems to be holding up fine. But I don't think this trim system puts any more stress on it than my home made one, so it all seems to be holding up.
Hope it stays that way! Your just too hardcore man. :Banane09:

I was completely abusing the trim this weekend. I probably grabbed the lever 1000 times. Turns out I pulled out the (up/down) pivot mounting sleeves in the nozzle itself, and almost lost the steering half of the nozzle. Then after epoxying that back to life I snapped the trim rod/cable in 1/2. I might have had mine adjusted a bit to agressive.

Sorry to hear that, and I hope I don't have any problems. But if it happens on one it will on others. Where did you snap your trim rod? In the engine bay? Maybe I should try and fit a stainless sleeve or something over as much as I can when I pull it apart to keep it from flexing or breaking.

Yep, the threading right where the 2 pieces meet @ the adjuster. Clean break...lol. I am going to throw some small pipe tubing over it to reinforce it. Just something to look out for.

I'll keep that in mind and I'll try and fix it up when I pull the engine back out soon. Thanks for the heads up man!
