So I'm trying to decide whether I should build up my blaster for racing or whether I should just pick up a used SXR and get into stock ski racing. Ultimately if I had the money I would love to build a very competitive blaster, but I'm working on a limited budget so I just want to see what I can build for a relatively cheap price.
Now I know a stroker Lamey is the way to go, but that's obviously not in my budget so I need some other alteratives.
Now I know I'll be running a drypipe and some 48's so that's pretty much decided already.
I'm obviously going to be running 62t cases, but I'm trying to decide on what cylinder/pistons to run.
Now I know most people don't like the 62t cylinders because they are more of a top end cylinder, but that will work good for me. I'm still a little confused on the different types of 62t cylinders though.
Now I know you have 701 and 760 62t cylinders then you also have a 64u cylinder. What's the deal with that? :dunno:
Basically if I wanted to build an engine as close to 800cc as possible what would I need to do without building a stroker(i.e. what cylinder/piston combination)? Also should I run flattops?
Thanks for all the help. I am really lost when it comes to building a race motor like this.
