i have a 17pound West Marine seavolt AGM-19 sealed battery..
i think i saw somewear that AGM batterys need a special charger... does anyone know?

i havent charged this battery in 2 years, so it may be a low battery...

Eh...you should probably try a different battery as your VERY FIRST STEP!
Especially if you have 2 or 3 relays "fail" in a row.

if he bridged the solenoid with a screwdriver and the engine turned over, his battery is good in theory.

how well did the engine turn over while bridging the solenoid?

i install the relay, hook everything back up and hit the start button.. Click , click... but nothing turned.....

i jump the post on the relay and i can hear the starter turn for a fraction of a second.

go back and hit the start button, click, clikc, click, starter ingages for a fraction of a second, click, clikc, clikc, click, click,,, and never did get it to ingage agen..

I would at least try another battery.

You don't know that your starter is bad. Don't start throwing parts at an undiagnosed problem unless you got cash to waste.

slow down there......

first your relay(s), now your starter.....

if the start turns over when the relay is bridged, its not a bad starter. what happens when you bridge the relay now???

For one thing, when you jump the solenoid, don't **********foot around - stick that screwdriver/pliers/whatever on there - it'll only spark if you're not committed to it.

Take out the spark plugs and try to turn over the motor by hand (grab the coupler to turn).
See if you can spin it.

See, this is why you don't need more mods - you'll spend way more time wrenching than you do now, and even now's too much.

Yes. As in driveshaft. You know...the shaft leading from the engine to the hole in the bulkhead.

no you take the spark plugs out to make it easier to turn the coupler....you may have a cover over yours if so remove it and try to turn it........yes the drive shaft.....if it does not turn or is difficult to turn......more than likely your pump or motor are frozen up......
