Okay guys, this is really my first true post on the X. I have a JS440 and have been looking for a SN or RN SJ. I Intend to keep the SJ till i die so i want to make it as custom as possible. So i normally start off with the paint. I came up with two paint schemes that i really like so far and i cant really decide. I am leaning more towards the Green main color. ANY help or suggestions will be taken.

Oh and P.S. since im only 14 dont talk trash. Im pretty mature

Here is my take....in order to avoid full on tackiness (not that my ski isn't) stick with ONE COLOR and then make all your stripes and sheeit White/Black/or Silver. or make the Ski White/Black/ Silver with only ONE COLOR for the strips and sheeit.

always looks pimp..

I've said that before and I'm on my (I've lost count)th ski. Good luck with your build and try to take the time to enjoy it. Picking the paint is the fun part.

I like where your heads at... but i'd reccomend you work on the design. Try laying out your drawing on a big sheet of paper.

I think you'll find that when you have an entire ski as a canvas (vs a sheet of notebook paper) the half moon shapes you have above might not get it. I'm fine with the colors... I guess i'd go orange.

Heres an example of what i'm talking about as far as layout of the design.

Hey, there you go, just like this car, go orange on one side, green on the other. Why decide on one, when you can do both....haha

If that ski has a stock hood, think about replacing it first. There's a good chance that you will down the road and that means repainting the ski. As swapmeet said, draw out the design again. When you start laying it out on the ski, you'll find that there isn't much space on the side of the tray.

As for the colour, I'd go orange. And here's another thing to think about - http://www.paintwithpearl.com/products.htm
If you have the skill to put on an even pearl coat, it could make those colours really pop with only a few extra dollars thrown in. I painted my ski black with blue pearl. Looks black, shines blue.

Ive always been a fan of orange skis. Mainly the metallic orange and black once. Also dont get too set on an SJ. Being 14 and riding a 440 im going to assume your not a big guy in which case you should really consider a FX1. Im 21 but im quite skinny and i went from a 550 to an fx1 and i love it. Ive ridden a couple superjets and even the one with a 951 in it putting out a ton of power wasnt as fun as my fx. If you like the 440 but the power just isnt there the fx1 will rock, but if the 440 is to small or unstable then a sj might be a better idea.
