hi I have a dasa 863cc 8mm stroker motor with power valves and trying to setup my msd total loss up for flat water freestyle can anyone help. I need it to be competitive thanks chase.
So you're running only 8 degrees of advance at 9000 RPM?32* static for long rod crank
start retard 5000
max rev limit 9000
max speed retard 24*
max timing all on
max retard +15 on
elec start on
start retard on
all others off
So why not lower the rev limit?
To include when the pump is out of the water?i dont want the rev limiter to ever come on
No. All the timing setting are relative to the actual timing your pickups are seeing from the flywheel. Your pickups may be set to 32 degrees. You can then retard up to 8 degrees from that for your base timing, so as low as 24 degrees in my example. Max retard is additional timing taken out as RPMs increase. So Dartman starts at 32. He is subtracting 24 degrees, so his advance at 9000 RPM is 8 degrees.Isnt the max speed retard, the timing at the end og the rev limit? Ex 24deg max speed retard.
Then the Ignition Will be at 24deg at 9000rpm?
that is correct...No.
