need help, superjet cuts out

my ski ran mint the past 2 days. then at the end of the day it hesitated once and at wot it just cut out.it fired right back up and ran fine but then would occasionally do the same thing at wot, just stop dead. but it fired back up everytime first try. the next day i checked my check valve, went through the carb, checked fuel filter, changed plugs, checked stator readings (which were all good), checked spark plug coil readings (good). it idles fine, revs up and down perfect on the trailer and idles around great in the water. but when i give it any throttle it dies now. it boggs then dies and when it dies it dies quickly like i puleed the lanyard. it takes a little longer to start back up now but it always starts again. what could it be?

the only stator reading that wasnt wihin spec was the white to ground AC voltage whish i got 3.2 volts when it says it should be between 4 and 5 with an analog tester (not sure what that means). so im thinking maybe the msd? not sure if its a fuel issue or electrical

You might want to elaborate on your setup it will help with the diagnosis

Carbs:

Jetting:

Pipe:

Stock electrics, Enhancer :

Etc..

its the 61x motor bored to 733cc. Mikuni super BN 46mm carb. low speed is a 127.5 at 3/4 turns out. high speed is a 150 at 2.5 turns out. its got a riva red pipe, westcoast head (180psi) and an msd enhancer with 62t electronics.

I can tell from this you also have tuning issues.

maybe it is not getting enough gas bc the breather to the tank is clogged? if air can't get back into the tank to fill the space the gas was in then it will cut out. just a thought

ive heard that anything under 3 turns out or under 2.75 turns out is fine. and if anything my ski is running rich so id have to turn it in and i tried that the other day and it didnt effect anything. i did check the breather valve by blowing in it one way and trying the other way and it works like it should

keep in mind i was riding perfect for a few days!!!!! then it started to do this, so im just curious as to how it could be the tune?

Exactly. Use common sense to find the source of this problem.

Are you low on fuel? When the nose of the ski pulls up you could be running dry.

Is your air intake somehow restricted? Run on flatwater without the hood (carefully of course) to see if you still have the problem.

Check your exhaust for leaks. If your coupler or manifold is leaking, it sufficates the motor and you can't get much over midrange. Test riding without the hood will also overcome this problem.

Good luck.

thanks for the help, i was going to try that since in the driveway it runs fine(with the hood off). however it is a full tank of gas so it cant be running dry at times. ill go tinker with it today and see what i find. Jetskis=money pit and headaches and sometimes lots of fun

found the f ing problem!!!!! the fuel filter had this little black thing cloging the inlet. its one of those clear ones so i looked at it the other day and there was nothing in it. the piece was actually hiding under the gas line in the fuel filter so i couldnt see it. i blew in it and hardly ne air got by. put on a different one today and it ripped again!!!!! thanks for the input
