need opinion best freestyle hood nosepiece and low bracket

Crammit, were you at Daytona? Did you take a close look at the Trinity Boat? There is nothing out there like it! Too bad for all us SJ guys.... People who are looking for a top notch boat, finally have a great option.

I have had 4 hoods now since 2003, make that 5 hoods.

Hood 1. Old School wammer, bought it used from wammer, would not breathe, he let me send it back for credit on a new hood.

Hood 2. 8 hole wammer. It did everything a hood is suppose to do and did it well.

Hood 3. Blowsion JK hood, this thing was bulletproof, but for flatwater hood tricks, it sucked, but it is not really a flat water hood. the shape of it does not work for weight distribution, I borrowed a wammer hood and I was back doing hood tricks with no issues. If all you are going to do is ride in the surf or never do hood tricks, this is a great hood.

Hood 4. Wammer 2 hole hood. It was much lighter than the 8 hole hood, the liner came loose right off but it may have been from where the hood got blown off the back of the ski at daytona.

Hood 5. Came on my current hull, old school wammer. harder to climb up on from the front because the hand holds are not a 360 degree design like his newer hoods. But the hood works really well for its purpose......

Hoods that I have not owned but used. 24/7 hood built by Chris Maros. This hood was the standard for many years when you though of a hood that was perfect....... It did everything very well.

Hoods that I will never own.

WDK, the handhold design looks like there was zero though in how the design should be, like they drew 2 circles and then connected them with 2 straight lines. Plus, I have yet to see one that looked like it would hold up, I have seen several that were the liners were coming out.

WCF, They look good, have a clean design, but for some reason I just do not like them.

I cannot comment on the XFT, they are incredible looking but I have not riden a ski with one.

how about fingerprint indentions in this hood??? I dont think I will buy one of these.

i have hood #4 on this list and i love it

Alright we have covered the hood and nosepiece, but what about the brackets. Which ones use the stock spring and which are for "tight setups"? Who likes what?

none of the brackets that come from Xmetal, Wamilton are designed to use a spring. The blowsion, WDK I think are designed to use a spring. Not sure on XFT.

Personally I like the Xmetal with dual breather tubes and no spring.

"Real men do not need springs" (doing my best saki immitation!)

You can use a single bolt and spring with the the XMW style bracket.
Not ideal, but you can.

ive got an xft bracket and you can use the stock bolt with a spring or use two smaller bolts and no spring.im using a blowsion spring and have it tight enough to leave at any position.i
