Need opinions for a tool I'm developing (engine temp)

havent read the whole thread so it may have already been mentioned. but make sure u arent restricting water coming from the pump. all water flow restrictions should be done after the engine between it and the pisser.

This sounds like the perfect solution for riding in any temp. Have you tried it?

I made a 2-in, 2-out billet aluminum housing for a cheap, common, 120 degree marine thermostat with a small bypass. I might have to use a 110 degree, depending on how hot the motor runs with it in. Waiting until spring to test it out, but I don't see why it wouldn't work well. You just splice it in somewhere between the motor and the pissers...

inline thermostat you would need to pull the hood off each time to check, a lcd display offers a constant eye on temps/info if needed
and yeah if you restricted a flow it would not be at the pump line

haha thank you J0hnny :D

I just run my pissers out the left side in front of the tray
Kneel down and check your motor and pipe temp with the left hand
and adjust as needed

^^ And that's what most guys are going to do as well. That's why this little module needs to have more than just one trick up it's sleeve. You might not sell me on a temperature readout but you would sell me on a fuel level indicator. Make it plug into a factory Yamaha fuel sending unit and you have my attention. Add a few more little tricks like that and you suddenly have a much larger market. I know air/fuel has already been mentioned...

that is one of my projects im working on right now. 2 indicators. 1 for fuel and 1 for battery voltage (total loss friendly)

mide as well put a wide band and data logging in it.... i mean while we are at it (this is facetious wide band cant run on leaded or in a pre mix engine for long without burning out)

My thinking for a fuel gauge would be one step past limited slips idea of tapping of an inline visible tube, but then add an input from there to relay to a digital readout, either realtime when the boat is stable or an average.

ive thought about this as well. the down sie is the only practical option is around $200 that would work well for our setups and all the different epths of tanks we run.
