I talked to 2 dealers both called Kawi and called me back. They said they wouldn't even see the ski until the dealer meeting on Nov 18 in Cali and not to expect delivery until after Jan 1st more like Feb or March. So we have conflicting information here already from the dealers. Anybody got anything in writing? If your dealer tells you October then they should be willing to put that on paper for you to share with us. Just my .02

I didn't ask for anything in writing, except for the fact that I have dibs on delivery #1 at my dealer (via Email)
It's for my wife, and she doesn't ride in the frigid SoCal winters... So I don't really care if it misses the mark by 2-3 months.

Its going to be at world finals. We'll see it at the beginning of October.

I know there's been these 700 lb rumors flying around but I somehow doubt they doubled the weight of the SXR by adding 12" and a 4 stroke. My guess is around 500.

A Yamaha FX SVHO 3 seater weighs 800ish lbs so I can't imagine the new SXR being 700 lbs. But then again the Kawi Ultra's are 1000 lbs couches so maybe it will be on the heavy side. Crossing my fingers this isnt like an SeaDoo 3D yikes!

There's no way it will be like the 3D. It has to be competitive!

But yeah.... seriously ...... With the info that's trickling in so far, I won't lay a deposit down if it's not 100% refundable (which in California.. is applicable on anything that's not considered a custom order)
If it's the hacked up couch with a pole that some people are reporting... I'll pass.

My optimistic side, likes to think that the people who basically created the sport... Would know better.
We'll see.

It really depends on how much bondrail goop they allow to flood out into the ski. The weight of the 4-stroke could be completely offset just by firing the guy who glued the old sx-r halves together.
