Good lord man!!

Yep, it's a paperweight on my desk now. One side of it even has some aluminum embedded on the surface. The starter wouldn't even turn the engine over with it in there. This also just happened to happen while the ski boats were doing a double up for us during the show---missed the entire thing thanks to this rock and me going just about 2' too close to shore.

Talked to Dave@Impros and went with a 9/15 for my setup. Ships today and I should have it by Monday probably.

Thanks Dave.

Can anybody compare an OEM + 2008 SJ prop (stainless) to e.g. hooker 9/15 or 10/16? I have the oem prop and really like it over the pre 2008 prop, but I just hear so many good opinions on the hooker - my setup after this winter will be ported 701 with bolt on usual goodies.

Thank you!

I swapped out my 13-16 3mm cutback concord for a 10-16 Hooker and was really impressed with the way it loads the pump. It's 'loose' enough at idle to let the engine spin up fast, then 'tightens up' once the rpms increase. It feels like the pump has massive traction on the last 18" of my set-up wave. You really get a lot of pop when the motor is on the pipe.

Make sure you talk to David about your set-up before you order one though. I ordered a 13-19 Hooker first, and that did NOT work right with my engine set-up (made a killer race boat though!) Dave has some knowledge of props and pumps, and will get you the right one for your combo.

Darin, I think you'll love the 9-15.

So the 13/16-3 had room for improvement? I can't imagine gaining even more low pull but I really want to try one.

My 13/16 is not a cutback, so he said the 10/16 would be the same acceleration but better hookup in most conditions while the 9/15 will let it rev quicker.

I trust him, very easy to talk to and he made sure to verify exactly what was being shipped.

I have a feeling you'll be able to dry out your pipe a little bit more now, and get more mid range power out of it.

I had a 3mm cutback Solas 13/17 impeller and switched to the 9/15 Hooker. It is by far the best 'mod' I have done to my ski. MSD Enhancer, lightened flywheel, bored nozzle...none of those came remotely close to the instant gratification that the Hooker provided. :purr:

Anyone running a 9/15 hooker with a TBM? Thinking of placing an order for the SJ to replace the mystery prop that came with it.

Plenty of people using that set up over here, it works really well. We recently did a back to back with this and a Magnum pump and was quite surprised.

Still Fat....
i'm using the 9-15 with my setup
definately love it over the 10-16
so much low end pop
and it still has some nice speed mid/upper (not that i am in that range alot)

what i notice, and this is from my riding style, compared to the 13-15's and other props i have used, is i consume a little more gas
especially when i am out ridding aggressively

but i can't complain with the response it gives and the size of my motor too
bet if i lost some wieght wouldnt be as bad.... ehhh thats why i carry the extra fuel jugs

i haven't tried the TBM with it just yet. i do have that in her sxr and its nice
i bet it would be a nice addition to the hooker 9-15
again, to me that is all trial and error for each persons style and taste

in my various tests with the props, the hooker 9-15 and 10-16 are way better then the 13-15 and 13-16.... i was VERY skeptical about them at first, but Dave assured me

What i would love to see if the hooker prop made lighter in these pitches, like out of carbon fiber or Ti or something, can only imagine that it would add more snap to the wind up

as i have said before... Impros is AWESOME to work with
downside, sometimes so busy it's difficult to get ahold of him, totally understandable

i do plan to get a hooker prop for her SXR and replace the 13-20 that is in there now.

Got the Hooker today, but haven't screwed it on my shaft yet. :popworm:

Here's the damaged Concord and new Hooker.
