The Jetmaniac front toe kick is awesome ! we have tweeked it and made it bigger per the Maniacs input, I will have it on the ski I'm building now, I think a -4" pole with the plus 5" bracket is perfect for surf/FW combo for most people, Lucas is a Freak and has a short pole fetish it's -5.5 and short.

He said something about mounting his bars to the pole bracket and just ditching the pole altogether! lol I have been trying to find the nads for arial tricks and keep getting the hell beat out of me by my pole because it's always in the way. I THINK the short pole makes things easier because the dam thing is out of your way???

Pole length is a personal preference thing, your ride style, height, etc. all factor in. One reason short poles are good for flatwater is that they make it easier to flip around lower to the water without hitting your head. Think of the triangle created by the ski, pole, and rider (this pic provides a good idea of what I mean):

Some 'flatwater only' riders only ride in the footholds so the extra weight and expense to the front foothold isn't wanted.
I know Tem was hooked after he decided to follow my lead and include one on his first freak hull. It is alot of extra work for him because it must be added after the hull is built. I especially like the longer tray created by the hold and the ability to get your weight even farther forward. I can't wait to try the 'new and improved' version.

Today got a last ride on this hull, all I can say is: It handles like a dream..
I prob have total of 3 hours on this hull, and felt like I knew it inside out! I cant wait to get mine!
Today I tighten the handle pole, I thought was i little too much, but I said will be fine
Fk anyone could climb on the pole and the pole would move.
we also missed Jetmaniac, he couldn't make!
Once again thanks Tem for keep us going!

I now have 3 days of riding with Lucas on this Ski.... Every ride I see myself improving... I can't wait to get mine, shouldn't be long....
