I'm guessing you don't have a selection of other metals available to you which is a bummer. I like your inginuity but i'm not sure you're prepared for the amount of rust etc... The parts look good though for being home made.

On the pole, are you building one out of steel as a test and then building it out of AL?

The footholds Maybe. Bolts and nuts are stainless, and the Rest wont Touch water...

Some amount of work gone into this, has gave me some great ideas for my project hull.

Have you thought about using the superjet end caps and welding alloy tubes in, a guy on pwcforums makes his like this and looks quite good, not as strong as a AM pole but cheap.

Do as you wish... but if you do subs, wreck the ski or just riding in general, everything will come in contact with water...there is no stopping it. If water can find its way threw the bond line and fill my tray compartment with 30lbs worth of water weight it can find its way anywhere.

I work on boats for a living, and have seen powder coated steel parts rust to nothing and they were installed inside the boat.

I just don't understand spending all this time making these parts not out of stainless.

I think it is awesome your making all you own parts, I'm just trying to save you the headache down the road when these parts rust and break apart.

I Want an adjustable Pole. As i Said. Footholds i use until they rust away. But iam pretty sure, they wont. And the Pole, just Testing it. If it work, Building Another is no Problem.

I work over 10 years with Steel, and Build everything by myself. Look my Build, no Bad work, i Tried something New, and Try to learn. Lets See what Happen.

Just got it together to check the dimensions. Need some more work, and then i weld it. But i think it looks good @ this point

Did reduce the weight alot, and its still strong. Other parts will follow

Spring Holds the Pole. Need to adjust when its complete together. Now i shorten the Mounting Plate, and put steering cable holder inside the Tube.
And i Need to lower the bracket about 1,5 inch

That thing looks Bad A$$!!!! How is the structural integrity of the bottom bracket though with cutting out all those pieces. From the pictures it looks flimsy.

7,9 lbs actually before welding. i do the fine work after welding, cause it will warp a bit.

Did enough bending Test, and just took Out the Material which isnt needet.

I could calculate it on Computer, but iam sure its Strong.

weld a little here and there, then let cool, then repeat. That will keep it from wrapping.
