We ride pismo every weekend, all year. Even when the waves are small the high tide will create some fun inside waves, when its triple over head there are 10 lines of over head+ white water to get past to get out to the fun stuff. Head high to double over head is the prime time stuff and all sand no rocks, its freeride heaven you can pull your truck right up to the water line. I feel for you east coast guys it must be a nightmare. We dont get hurt often cause we ride ALL the time and know our surf break pretty well, good luck over there stay warm!
Although we do break some stuff, we have Taylor Curtis who lives 1 1/2 away that dials our skis in and has every part on earth available for pick up at his shop, he is the man.

I forever hate / envy you.

@Gliderskier you hear this!?

I bet bro. I lived in San Diego many years ago... and spent a few months living in El Segundo just 4 years ago... I was shocked at the home prices compared to here. Guess we can't give houses to people to come live here... LOL

I've shoveled around a dozen times to keep the patio cleared so my dog can go out...

I'll be climbing up on the roof of my shed, garage and (when I can make it there) my beach house to get some of the snow off before the weekend. It's supposed to be in the 50's and rain saturday and sunday.... we are going to have massive flooding next.

So far, there are at least 4 buildings that I know of that have had roof collapses.

There are snowmobiles riding around everywhere to try and help people.

I have no idea why I ever moved back here after 5 years of living down south.

here's the view I had this morning from my livingroom window. Keep in mind, i've cleared the snow off my truck many times and was out driving yesterday to check on relatives. My wifes car was also cleared several times and is now covered with a drift.

Still snowing like a mofo here right now.

In 2010 we had a similar occurrence up at Hunter Mtn, NY. We got 7ft in under three days. The town was paralyzed only difference is the land is not flat. Ski resort was open late the first day but still we got to ski a massive dump but it was mobbed; especially with people who couldn't ski. It was like skiing in a war field. The snow was heavy also. Roofs collapsing everywhere. The resort had snow cats going down main roads bc every plow teuck in the county broke down. All the private guys were broke down too. Construction guys brought in pay loaders to move snow which they melted down and dumped in the near by river. I had snow around my house until mid April. We skied everywhere you could think of in and out of resort it was epic. I can't imagine what's going to happen once it rains and melts. Be safe and good luck

Any freestylers doing the Niagara end of the Great lakes (Erie or much better yet Ontario) please post here.

Today was ripping on Lake Erie.

It was an odd wind day. Tuck in the bay there were only 3' waves but as you headed to the other side they grew to 8'. Went to do a depth test by the shore and scrapped up my shin to end the ride but otherwise un eventful. Beautiful day.
