My buddy works on ski's for a living (mainly sea don't's and other couches) but he get free stuff all the time. Found this motor in his basement that the shop owner gave to him a couple of years ago. All filled up with oil and has a nice hone job on the cylinders. Carbs need to be completly redone but they are 46 or 48mm buckshot carbs. Ported 701 stroker with 61x cases. What a find. We are going to redo it and put it in his 650 SJ. :woot: What a find!

Not sure what stroke it is but it is definatly stroked. I am kind of the stand up ski guy so he just was like here...........tell me what I have. It is dirty as hell on the out side but clean on the inside.

Did I mention that it was FREE!! He gets so many deals it ticks me off :)

Oh, and he has a RAD flywheel on his 650 so we will jsut use those electronics on the motor. Should have some balls to it. Not sure on compression yet but we will go through it here shortly.

Lucky bastage, we should all find that forgotten stroker tucked away in a dark corner of the shop.:woot: :woot: :Banane01: :woot: :woot:

Those are Blackjack carbs. Make sure to go through them and make sure all is well. When you get ready to set it up and know the specs of everything else, call Art at Jetworks. He'll get you close on the jetting. Good luck!

Took the carbs apart and they have only spiratic internals. one had 120m the other had 105m. One had 115p the other was not marked. Neither had gaskets, both are missing screws, only one had the body that sits on top of the jets. Stock reed petals in the 61x cages w/ R&D manifold. Oh-well, seeing how it was free he is still comming out ahead. He has a nice set of 44mm CDII's on his 650 sj now he can use if need be.

Started tearing the motor down. Very clean!! Cases were damaged but properly welded back. Cases were ported! I am cleaning them up and matching them to the ported cylinder a little better just because it is apart and might as well. Stroker crank is not a huge stroker, probably like 2-4 mm but its a stroker. Great hone job on the cylinders 81mm bore. Head cleans up really nice. The domes are milled to accomidate the stroker crank.

What thickness are head gaskets available in. This gasket was like 1.5mm thick. Who sells them?

 Crank has hot rod's on it. Bearings are all great and spin like new. The only thing it is missing is that retainer ring that goes on the rear crank bearing and seats in the case. Does any have a spare we can buy off ya?

Hey River Rat can we use the one off my old crank? It looks like it is in good condation.

Yup, that will help allot. That way we can get anouther boat on the river. I am putting REV holds and turfing his boat as well as setting this motor up for him. Should be nice when done.

Here is a pic of the crank. It has hot rod rods on it and all the bearings look new. OEM is on the right, the stroker is on the left.

I'm not 100% sure. I think it is about a 4mm. The cases only had to be slightly clearenced

I thought the cases didn't need to be clearanced for 6 mm and under?

It just needed to be clearenced a little on the outer edge. More stroke requires machining of the cases for more room.
