NO LONGER OFFERING Custom Stainless HIN tags

My tags showed up the other day and like others have said...they look great...thanks! I too prefer not to drill holes into my hull so I got some automotive application 3M tape from work which is used for applying emblems, weatherstrips, body side moldings and other tape applied parts to vehicles and stuck the plates so I can adhere these to my hull. The tape has gone thru all kinds of automotive industry testing (salt spray, 90 degree peel, pluck testing etc) so you probably ruin the plate trying to get it off or cohesively fail the tape core (1 mm thick).

Update: I have just received a product report from one of the first guys to order these tags. I believe he uses it in saltwater but will confirm with him on that. He has noticed a small rust spot, which really shouldnt be happening. I had requested 304 stainless from the manufacturer but never received confirmation of that exactly. My receipt showed stainless as part of the part number so i never second guessed the alloy. a few days ago i emailed the manufacturer to confirm the alloy used and explained the situation but I cannot get a response. Please everyone watch your tags and if any of you have concerns or are not happy i will happily refund your money. My goal is to only produce quality products and customer satisfaction is my #1 priority.

To past customers, I recommend using clear nail polish or other anti rust products as an additional safeguard to keep surface metal from rusting.

316ss won't rust 304 will. Clear coat it with anything it will solve any problems

True story. I sell some furniture with 304 stainless hardware that rusts oceanfront, but not if it is a block away from the salt spray. It still won't rust through, it kinda just bleeds it. I give this stuff to those people. http://www.spotlessstainless.com/ You literally need a q tip worth to clean off the rust from something as big as this plate. Somebody told me it is just citric acid and could be had for cheaper but the $20 bottle will last a life time anyways.

Sending a PM now for some tags.

The tags are hard to source so maybe still offer them for sale so guys can just take them in to any shop with a laser. I'd hate to see a shift change stick you with a bunch of tags.

Thats a good idea OCD but i only have about 12 left. Also, I dont know if it would be cost effective to buy these from me and then take them to get marked. Im not sure how much other shops charge for markings. I think the place you used might be cheaper when everything is said and done once you include gas then the value of a persons time.

Sorry man, I'm not any more. If things ever change at work and allow me to, I will certainly start again and will post another ad.
