Sorry about your blue balls.

I just stated why and I have stated the same in the past.

The information is misleading, to the custumer, to the public, that's why.

I could tell you the engine makes 250HP and and it very well could have, in perfect conditions, maybe on nitro.

If you don't beleive me, now I am a liar. If I can't reproduce them, now I am a liar.

I am almost sorry I even bothered to post the pictures.

Brian

I'll never understand why people in this industry are so weird about dynos.

If this is porn than I guess I have blue balls.

You're welcome.

I don't do any of the setup on the electronics. Kyle takes care of that end. I will ask him tommorrow.

Brian,
Thank you for showing off the dyno. Seeing that you're setting up the timing brings a question to mind. Have you noticed any of your MSD pickup mounting plates having the holes not timed correctly? I've had to move some pickups as far as .100" to make them 180 degrees apart.

Thanks again,
Kurt

Don't sweat it man. I thought it was cool that you shared it.

I've never seen a dyno for a jetski engine, so I'm glad you shared it.

I don't have any expectations of it. I just thought it was cool. :)

Certainly a nice tool for tuning your setup.

Not just for a jetski bud. I think that dyno is good for 500HP. We have had V-8s running on her. Just have to set the cradle up to be able to shaft to the dyno. I wish someone was local into the internet deal, I would really like to do a youtube video of the sights and sounds of what these badboys are like at full song straining their little hearts out against the brake. They just sound so badass and reverberates throughout the shop.

I love the sound of a two stroke. I run my Banshee on the wheel dyno just to hear it.

I'm sick, what can I say.

I don't care if it make 3 hp or 30,000 hp you guys build some come cool looking motors/parts. Thanks for the pics and if you could get video of one of these bad @$$ed setups running.....that would be music to my ears.

Have you ever posted up pics of your banshee?

Wow, I come onto the X to see whats going on with you guys "over the pond" and i almost always come off green with envy - the engines and billet stuff here and from team scream, and the Bob hulls amongst others, along with lots of other very innovative ideas from lots of people - its a real shame it would cost so much to have myself some of this kit in the UK. you really do not appreciate how lucky you are !!

Thank you. I will pass that along as well.

Someone would have to do the video, I am not into the electronic supergadgets, I don't even own a video camera. I have enough stuff to take care of haha.

It is nothing special, no purpose built dragbike here. I just call it a big motor dunebike.

10MM stroker, 72(?) bore 525 CC it has a DASA T-Rex cylinder, CPI big bore pipes. 100HP on DASA's wheel dyno.
Full chassis, full body. Only the streched arm gives it away.

I have since taken off the graphics and am just running a black seat.

We ship, cylinder kits, cranks, complete engines, or ATV parts over the pond everyday my friend. Don't count yourself out so easy.

Mmm, I can appreciate you ship all the time - I suppose i was trying to say, by the time its packed, shipped, import tax etc etc. I guess it adds quite a few ££s.

A ski that makes 150 hp at WOT may be a turd coming out of the hole (where we need the power) compaired to a 110hp motor that may make way more power at the lower to mid RPM band.

This is so true, I was playing with an ignition on an engine recently that was showing just over 100 bhp but 90 ft/lbs of torque @6000rpm...now thats a freestyle motor. As Brian says, don't get too hung up on the numbers.

The reasons given are not unique to this sport but they all post numbers. I just don't see why jetskiing is any different with this regard. Sorry to be a negative nancy...

i run a motorcycle dyno @ work , like brian says its a tool . for best useable hp its best to have a good air/fuel mixture reading
some bikes loose hp when the a/f ratio is correct but gain throttle responce (what we all want)

so why even bother posting this pic then.
most motor builders would not have an issue with showing the power curves along with a/f just for informational purpose.only in this sport does it seem to be taboo.
could it be the #'s are not what most would like us to believe?

Brian I am with you!! There is nothing like a 2-stroke screaming!!!!!! Banshee sound soooooo good. I also miss the 125 nationals! Those pro riders never let off. And you can't forget the smell of 2 stroke burning!!

Thank you for the pic. I am a research and development mechanic at an automotive powertrain plant. And we have Dynos with multiple absorbers.

YES!! We had 4 or 5 MSD plates here and found zero consistency between them all. Not only in the two pickup locations but also the overall position of thempockup versus the plate mounting holes. I was concerned abou mine because my adjustment is almost bottomed out on the mounting bolts. Well it turns out that MSD just uses a "get it close" style of manufacturing.
