As the title says, I am now able to provide the service of modding your OEM Yamaha 6M6, 61X and 62T CDI's to include an adjustable Rev limiter.

Adjustable range is approx 7200 to 9000 RPM.

Cost for the service is $55 and this includes testing* for proper function before and after the service as well as return shipping. Turn around is generally one week.

* Not interested in the mod but still want your CDI tested for function, I can do that too. I am now offering component testing on limited basis. I'm still working on pricing for the testing services but an item like a CDI will be in the $20 per CDI range to give you a rough idea of cost.

**Got a growing pile of core components in various condition? Send me a PM and let's work something out in trade for either product, services or OCD credit towards future purchases.

General Info;
6M6 CDI (650 models) 6500-6600 rpm limiter
61X CDI (701 94/95) 7050-7150 rpm limiter
62T CDI (701 96+) 7050-7150 rpm limiter

Gotta add this to your "Master" products list ;-) If i wasn't going to a programable cdi at the advice of my motor builder/tuner i would be all over it for the price...

Done!

These are good to have just as spares. The curve may not be ideal for a modded boat but it will get you back on the water for cheap without the aggravation of bouncing off the rev limiter.

I think anywhere in between 7800 - 8500 RPM is a good setting for surf but I have no idea where to set the trim pot on your particular unit to achieve it. You have either a Riva or Protec modded unit so you will have to research their instructions to know for sure.

My units start at 7200 at the lowest setting and max out around 8800 rpm. The first 6 units I built are backwards and the rpm limit increases when turned counterclockwise. All units since are made so turning clockwise will increase rpm limit.

Yes, I can test MSD Enhancers, ATP Epics and any other Yamaha based CDI's.

I haven't done any Total Loss systems yet but I will be able to test them as well provided you send all the components.

Have any use for bad MSD's that you can Revamp? i have one or two here. Also have a bunch of good misc 6m6 Cdis if you want to make a trade i have no use for them. Pretty sure i have 3 laying here at the house.

After my Enhancer died, Boyer asked me to try one of his modified stock CDI's. I was surprised how well it's performing, I couldn't tell the difference from it and the Enhancer. I have run 5 tanks of fuel through the ski with this CDI and no problems. It's a keeper

I am already gathering a pile of bad MSD's. I am currently not aware of any fix for them. I won't turn them away but I'm not offering any value for them either.

any bulk order discount

Absolutely! Everything is easier in bulk.

Glad to hear Scott! I'm sure the TBM and a few degrees of advance helped add to that little package.

I was going to suggest the same thing but even at partial throttle, the ski could wind out to a speed much too fast for a young rider.

I was able to confirm that grounding out the pink wire from the head temp sensor causes the rev limiter to drop to approx 3250 rpm. I tested a stock 61X CDI and a 61X CDI I had already modded and the limit was the same so modding the box has no effect on the limp mode.

My timing light decided it did not want to participate in todays testing so I was not able to check to see if there is any effect to timing. Limiting the rpm is more than effective so I doubt that they would bother to do anything with timing.
