Where are people generally mounting the switches on a RN? Trying to search the forum but have not had much luck, maybe not using the correct terms.

Usually on the dash in the same plane as the choke/primer and fuel selector.

I'm wondering because my dash is not flat like that, looks more like this

I have always removed that plastic dash tray and replaced with hydro turf so I am not sure what to suggest. Hopefully other's in your scenario will chime in with their solutions.

In the meantime, the only thought that comes to mind is to mount the switch in the dash with a larger hole drilled through the plastic so that you can reach a finger through to operate the switch.

Ok I didn't realize that! Makes sense to remove that plastic dash as it is ugly anyway.

If you are interested, I have a pre cut panel of turf here that fits on the bulkhead. I have to check to see if it's for a RN or SN first but you can have it for the cost of shipping if it's the right one.

Maybe it is time I try the rotary switch out...my last OCD surf amor bilge switch just went to @lowe0515 on the hull he bought from me. I left it as a little surprise for him!
