Odyssey battery!!!

Anybody have any luck with these odyssey agm batterys? I have an 06 sxr and ive been looking at the odyssey pc545 which is the recommended replacement for the yb16clb/ytx20hlbs, any info would be great!!

Have had one in a B2 for over 5 yrs now still good, very strong and heavy battery but terminals can spin and destroy battery if u over tighten or use red loctite.

I have the battery in my wife's Rn, works great love the thing. Like stated above just a heads up, don't over tighten the cable nuts, the post and nuts are brass.

i went to the hardware store and bought couplers that thread over the brass terminals, then used a small allen bolt to tighten the cable down after i stripped the terminal end. The battery is at least 4 years old now

PC 545 is smaller and lighter than the PC 625 which would be more like the YB16CLB. I've used the PC625 for many years and like other posters used to get over 5 years out of them (have 4 skis). Recently though, I've had them crap out after 2.5 years as well as self discharge unlike other AGM batteries (no parasitic load). So, sadly, I've changed to Deka ETX16.

So what battery should i get? I need a new one, looking to stay around 100 bucks. I have a battery tender jr, any problems keeping the agms topped off with that?

Just a small threaded coupler from the hardware store.

I haven't charged this battery ever and it always starts. Other non agm batteries i use the battery tender plug in on every so often.

The Deka EXT9 is a good battery for the price. It combines decent quality, smaller size, yet they have enough juice to be reliable in the surf.

IMO the Battery Tender JR is OK to top off your battery, but DO NOT leave it connected after that. If your ski sits, you can periodically (once a month) connect it for a few hours, but leaving it on indefinitely WILL cook the battery eventually, despite what they say.

Odyssey batteries are good batteries, they got a bad rap for while.... Then people tried the lithium batteries and truly found out out what "problems" are.

I've had an odyssey on my superjet for two years and on a sitdown before that. It's a great battery, I've never charged it never had any problems with it

Yes, it will. It's a little shorter and more narrow than the stock YBCB16L. You can fill the space with some rubber matting.
