Official 2011 Daytona Beach can't go thread

I have a mountain of work ahead of me, here and back in Vermont. Been working 80+hours a week for 2months and damn lucky to be able to do so. i waited too long to order parts and got screwed bc everyone takes off for the holidays instead of fulfilling orders. Parts arrive late, i get hassled by the cops in NY on my way back from out east, friends backed out and left me to drive solo, the list goes on. Fourth year will be a pass for me.

I hope the 2011 FREERIDE list starts to grow! I will be down in FL and Cali before the years is done to see you guys.

Looks like I'm out. Thought I would finally make it this year but I couldn't get anyone else to commit to the trip. Next year I'll make better plans. What really sucks is that I have no work to do all weekend so I'm just sitting around the house thinking of Daytona when I had a free timeshare to use this weekend. What a bummer! Guess I'll be workin' on the 300sx project this weekend.

i just got the nail in the coffin.. i have been planing this for 6 months and im really bummed i had to cancel my reservations just now. my life is like a tornado right now after getting back from my recent deployment and the money i was going to spend on this weekend could really go in my front end on my truck. when i get my life back in order ill come down.

Really hate to hear that. You should plan to go to St Augustine or Panama City when the weather cooperates (smaller rides but still a good time).

dude no kidding the list of gone wrong keeps getting bigger. kinda like your breaks going all the way to the floor when you really need them (that really happened half an hour ago). so thats another nail. but on the up side i do have to go visit family in Jacksonville asap so as soon as i get things squared away here ill use that as an excuse to go ride in St Augustine

2nd then the wave forecasts start coming in
3rd now the X is completely boring me cause there isnt anyone on here and nothing interesting to read.

My christmas break ended this week, so it's back to classes. It would be hard to miss the first 2-3 days of class and not get behind. Maybe next year...

I am super bummed... I had a blast last year and wanted to go Big this year... I built an enclosed trailer and had been planning for over 6 months. Then within the last few months and the last few weeks everyone that was supposed to be go with me canceled in short order... Oh well like other comments my life is a tornado and a bunch of stuff went down last week and I have a funeral today and another this week that I have to go to... Ugh... Next year I am spending a week in TONA. cause I am tired of the this snow!

Speaking of tornados, I know many were planning on leaving about now, driving and flying, so be careful. We have a severe tornado threat across Central and South Florida through this evening, with a funnel spotted earlier over by Captain Bojangles, and hail reported in many places. Orlando International has 45 minute delays, and the satellite dish here at the house took a hit earlier. At least today isn't yesterday, for it ended up being a nice day!
